Ahead of Matt Cohen’s Young & Restless Debut, He Shares Exciting News — and Got ‘the Boot’?

Today’s the day when The Young and the Restless viewers will see a new detective in town. Soap fave Matt Cohen makes his Genoa City debut as Detective Burrows and though his character will be leading the investigation into Noah’s car wreck, the actor is already getting the boot — but it has nothing to do with his new role…

Cohen posted a video on his official Instagram and gave an update in regards to a recent surgery. “Good morning, what’s up, hey, how are you doing?” he asked fans then went on to state, “Guess what? I’m excited, going to share the news with the world. I got the cast off my leg.” After he looked at a calendar, the actor continued, “It’s 28 days since I had surgery on my Achilles tendon on my right foot. Now it’s off and I’m walking.”

Even though the doctor told him he shouldn’t be walking, Cohen revealed, “We’re walking in the walking boot, we’re doing OK. If you want to come along the journey, fitness, health, all the things nonstop all the time, check out my subscriptions. If you’re into that sort of thing.” He then shared that he’s “having a good time, recovering somehow, someway” and continued, “We’re failing many days and we’re sharing all the things in between so whatever it is or it isn’t, we’re having fun, we’re getting healthy.” He then invited followers to watch him “limp through a workout or a cold plunge” with hopes of inspiring them to do something super healthy but added, “No [bleep] promises.”
