1. Baby Tate is kidnapped

Kim and Graham are distraught to discover that Baby Tate has been kidnapped from the cottage where they’ve been hiding him.

In an attempt to intimidate them, the kidnapper has hung photographs of the family up at the cottage, and uses a tablet to demand a ransom for the baby’s safe return.

Panicked, Kim discreetly asks Thea for help but insists that the police aren’t officially involved. She wants to keep their deception from Joe, who believes that Graham has taken the baby far away from the Dales.

2. Kim accuses Thea of the kidnap

As Graham follows the kidnapper’s instructions and goes to the cottage, Kim is dwelling on Thea’s outraged reaction to her after the crash that led to Dawn’s death.

When they meet, Kim directly accuses Thea of the kidnap and urges her to admit the deed. Thea doesn’t take Kim’s accusations well and loses her temper, leading Kim to try and run away.

3. Kim and Thea’s showdown has horrific consequences

Kim’s panic escalates as she tries to escape an enraged Thea, and she stabs her. With Thea bleeding and vulnerable, Kim urges her again to tell her where Baby Tate is.

When Thea accuses Kim of plotting to sell the baby, Kim finally realises she can’t be responsible for the abduction. But shortly afterwards, Thea falls unconscious, and Kim’s desperation grows even further.

4. Graham gets a nasty shock

Graham’s next journey takes him to Home Farm Stables, where he’s relieved to discover Baby Tate is safe and unharmed.

However, there is still a big shock for him when the kidnapper steps forward to reveal their identity…

5. Kim is anxious about the future

Kim dashes to hospital with Thea to get her the urgent treatment she needs.

Given the circumstances, the doctor treating Thea insists that Kim calls the police. Kim feels daunted and stressed about the consequences, both for her and her secret daughter…

6. Sadie steps up her scheming

After her plan to seduce Caleb failed spectacularly, Sadie changes her tactics. Still determined to disrupt Caleb and Ruby’s marriage, she decides to exploit Caleb’s fears about Ruby’s drinking instead.

Sadie makes a promise to Caleb that she will look out for Ruby. But she later talks Ruby into coming to the pub with her, appealing to Ruby’s defiant nature by letting slip that Caleb asked her to watch her and suggesting he’s trying to control her.

7. Sadie sets up a pub row

Sadie engineers a discussion about Manpreet’s difficult past at The Woolpack, and this escalates into a huge public argument that doesn’t reflect well on Ruby.

Caleb steps in to deescalate the situation, and Sadie plays the role of Ruby’s supportive friend in the moment. However, she also lies to Caleb about her efforts to stop Ruby drinking, creating tension between the couple.

8. Ruby falls into Sadie’s trap

The following day, Sadie again tries to convince Ruby that Caleb is trying to control her. Ruby doesn’t agree, but thanks Sadie for being a supportive friend.

As they prepare for a business meeting, Sadie talks Ruby into having a glass of wine. Caleb isn’t happy when he sees this, while Sadie implies she didn’t have anything to do with it.

Reminded of Sadie’s earlier suggestion that Caleb is controlling, Ruby takes a determined swig from her wine glass.

9. Caleb and Ruby are at odds

The business meeting is a dire failure, as Ruby’s clients get a bad impression when they spot her arguing with Caleb.

Caleb and Ruby argue again, blaming each other for the disastrous meeting, and an infuriated Ruby storms off.

Sadie takes the opportunity to chat to Caleb alone, and manages to convince him that Ruby has an alcohol problem. Meanwhile, she continues to work on Ruby, insisting that Caleb is too controlling of her.

10. Chas’s accusation against Liam backfires

Liam returns to the village from a mysterious night away, and Chas is suspicious when Manpreet gets out of his car.

They’re horrified when Chas, who’s been concerned about Liam’s furtive behaviour lately, accuses them of having an affair.

But Claudette soon explains what was really going on – she was with both of them at a murder mystery night.

Liam tries to explain to Chas why she hadn’t been invited to join them, but he makes the situation worse and leaves Chas feeling upset.

Later, Marlon steps in to check on Chas and suggests that she could try and prove to Liam that she would have enjoyed the event and his assumptions were incorrect.

11. Chas makes a touching gesture for Liam

The following day, Liam and Chas bump into Paddy, who is panicked about a ‘body’ he’s found at the vets’ surgery with a knife in the back.

As Paddy leads them to Mary’s ‘corpse’, Liam quickly realises that Chas has organised a murder mystery day for him. He’s genuinely moved by her thoughtful idea, and starts to solve the puzzle with excitement.

However, as the day goes on, Liam’s enthusiasm wanes, which frustrates Chas.

12. The murder mystery game turns dangerous

Liam is trying to figure out a clue that Chas has set up for him when there’s a knock on the door. He opens the door to a man named Dave.

Liam incorrectly assumes that Dave is part of Chas’s murder mystery setup, and lets him tie him up. As Dave complains about Dylan’s absence, Liam is confused, but still misunderstands that his visitor’s unusual behaviour isn’t part of the act at all…

13. Chas and Marlon face dangerous Dave

Dylan arrives and is terrified to see Dave. Liam finally realises that he’s in genuine danger when Dave rants about how Dylan grassed him up to the police.

It isn’t long before Marlon and Chas turn up, but Dave quickly knocks Marlon out. Liam and Chas try to reason with their angry uninvited guest, but things escalate further when Dave produces a gun and takes Chas outside…
