It’s ‘the night that changes everything’ in EastEnders next week where all episodes take place across one night, and for a few Walford residents, life will never be the same.

As Denise Fox (Diane Parish) struggles to take in the life-shattering news that she has cancer, she’s comforted by Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) before news of her daughter, Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams), means she’s forced to rush to her side. Will Denise tell anybody about her diagnosis?

After driving her home from the wedding, Ian and Kathy Beale (Adam Woodyatt and Gillian Taylforth) share a warm moment, completely unaware that life is about to alter dramatically, but what’s happened?

When information from finally shows George (Colin Salmon) the true scope of his adoptive dad, Eddie Knight’s (Christopher Fairbank) vile nature, they come to blows, before George makes a decision that will have major ramifications, but what does he do?

Elsewhere, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) is floored by Max Branning (Jake Wood), Kat and Alfie Moon (Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie) worry that they’re behind a poisoning and Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) suffers in Ravi Gulati’s (Aaron Thiara) absence.

Monday, June 1

Zack and Mark clash

Chelsea flirts with Mark, but when he and Zack begin to clash, Lauren is forced to step in. Outside, Chelsea and Zack are about to kiss, but they’re interrupted. She heads back to the wedding, unaware of what awaits.

While the rest of Walford congregate following the drama at Vicki and Ross’ wedding ceremony, Denise struggles to digest the information regarding her diagnosis from her doctor. Heading back to Fox & Hair, she’s found by Yolande and finally breaks down, before the pair head home to talk.

Meanwhile, as Kathy and Cindy find themselves squabbling, Ian intervenes and drives Kathy home, completely unaware of what’s about to happen.

Tuesday, June 2

Kathy tells Ian how proud she is

Ian is heartened as he and Kathy arrive home and she declares her utter pride in him, though it’s shirt-lived as a knock at the door promises to change Ian’s life forever.

Denise’s consultant calls her to return to the hospital for urgent treatment, though before she can, she receives a terrifying phone call and rushes to be with Chelsea.

Elsewhere, sick to death of the criticism and mockery from the other Albert Square residents, Max attempts to shut them up by dropping to one knee and proposing to Cindy, Kat and Alfie panic that they’ve given food poisoning to the wedding guests and Harry takes a tongue lashing from Gina as she ruminates over Eddie.

Wednesday, June 3

Gina tells George what Eddie said

When she learns of Eddie’s comments from Harry, Gina heads to No.1 to tell George. The scales fall from his eyes as he realises his adoptive dad hasn’t changed and determines to make sure he spends his last days behind bars. Trapped, Eddie plays his last card and tells George about his financial arrangement with Nicola.

Denise attempts to remain a tower of strength for Chelsea while concealing her own feelings, deciding to keep her diagnosis a secret, while Yolande tells her that it’s imperative she open up to her family.

Also, Cindy is flabbergasted by Max’s proposal while Priya, desperately lonely in Ravi’s absence, seeks attention.

Thursday, June 4

Denise breaks the news to Jack

Dawn breaks in Walford and it’s perfectly clear that a difficult road lies ahead for a number of residents.

As George finally renounces Eddie as his dad, old wounds are reopened and, endeavouring to protect his family, George makes a split-second decision that changes everything.

Meanwhile, realising she needs to face her own reality, Denise tells Jack about her blood cancer and Kat and Alfie throw an after party.
