EastEnders reveals Eve’s shocking new Nicola secret in early iPlayer release

There's an unexpected turn of events.

EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s episode (24 June), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders airs dramatic scenes involving Eve Panesar-Unwin tonight, which could change everything for her and Suki. As the couple go before the all-important adoption panel, the meeting soon goes wrong, and Eve makes a rash decision that she may live to regret…

Suki and Eve prepare for the panel in today’s episode, and Priya, Avani and Nugget give the pair their support before they leave.

But the day is tinged with sadness, as it’s also the anniversary of the death of Suki’s son Jagvir. When Nicola spitefully brings this up in the Square, Suki lunges at her and Eve quickly calms her wife down.

Suki is wound up as they arrive at the meeting, and she rages at a fellow driver in the car park. In the waiting room, she apologises to Eve for making the day more stressful, and Eve reminds her that they need to show the panel that they’re more than the people they’ve read about.

The pair then go before the panel, who question them on their pasts and their intentions for adopting a child. When Suki is questioned about her own children, she brings up her previous mistakes, including with Ash. She highlights that she has grown and would do things differently this time.

But this leaves Suki rattled, and when the panel later brings up Jagvir, she grows overwhelmed and rushes out of the room. Eve tries and fails to stop her leaving and is frustrated that their adoption hopes might be over.

Suki returns home in tears and tells Vinny about what happened. Her son apologises for what he said earlier in the week and makes clear to Suki that he always felt loved and protected by her growing up.

Meanwhile, Eve heads to Harry’s Barn to drown her sorrows after the eventful day. As she ignores calls from Suki, her day gets worse when Nicola arrives to taunt her. When Nicola continues to insult Suki, Eve sees red and hits her.

But Nicola gleefully tells devastated Eve that her violence was recorded on the bar’s CCTV and that she could now be facing years in prison with her previous criminal record.

When Eve returns home, Suki informs her that she was recommended grief counselling by the panel and they have been approved to be adoptive parents. But will Eve’s violence against Nicola throw a spanner in the works?
