A murder shock has unfolded in Emmerdale, as Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) has been killed.
We haven’t seen the character in a couple of weeks as she’s been working at her new job in Sheffield. Things changed yesterday, however, as Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) decided to speak to Caitlin about her raping Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).
Mack had made the decision to visit Doctor Todd after some advice from Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) of all people. He told Mack that he needed to get quiet revenge, so he slipped out of the village and made his way to Sheffield without anyone knowing.
When Mackenzie confronted Doctor Todd about raping his wife, she denied all of the claims. She continued with her cover story that the sex was consensual, and that Charity was a liar.
Caitlin then took it upon herself to tell Mack about baby Leyla being Charity and Ross Barton’s (Michael Parr) child. She said it because she wanted to fuel her character assassination of Charity, but didn’t consider that Mack might already know this information.
Because he found out the truth a few days ago, Mack listened to Caitlin’s words and reacted in a way that she didn’t expect.
His anger grew so much in this confrontation, Doctor Todd called security on Mack. He left without any trouble from them, and was later seen sitting on some stairs, listening to a voicenote from Charity.
Doctor Todd found Mackenzie and removed her mask. She said that there’s absolutely no way she will get convicted, certain that the jury will believe her because she’s a well-respected member of the NHS.
The police investigation into Charity’s allegation may end soon though, as a haunting moment aired at the end of the episode that has changed everything.
We saw a very brief moment of Doctor Todd lying on the floor in a pool of blood.
With Caroline Harker set to depart her role, it looks like someone has killed the surgeon.
But whodunnit?
