Megyn Kelly launches scathing attack on Aussie Supergirl star Milly Alcock: ‘Loathsome’
US TV host Megyn Kelly has launched a personal attack on Aussie actress Milly Alcock over Supergirl’s poor box office performance.

Outspoken US TV host Megyn Kelly has gone on a blistering attack on Aussie actress and new Supergirl Milly Alcock, calling the young star “loathsome” and “very weird looking”.
The former NBC host slammed Alcock on her self-titled podcast overnight, blaming the 26-year-old for Supergirl’s dismal performance in the box office while also making several personal remarks about the Sydneysider’s appearance.
“This woman looks like she’s 5 foot [152cm]. Online, they say she’s 5’5 [165cm] – challenge. If she’s 5’1 [154cm], it’s a miracle,” Kelly said on the show.
“She’s very weirdly small, and they want us to believe she’s this fierce super – no. She was in Game of Thrones. She was very weird looking.”

Kelly, 55, claims the film – which is projected to lose Warner Bros. a whopping $US125 million ($180 million) – failed because viewers are over being spoonfed female empowerment narratives.
“We’re over the forced-upon-us girlboss era. It’s not authentic. It’s not organic. We’re no longer buying it,” Kelly said.
“It’s not that women can’t be empowered and fierce and all the great things. It’s just, stop forcing it on us in the form of Supergirl.”

After comparing Alcock to controversial Snow White star Rachel Zegler, who has been politically outspoken and arguably blunt in her interviews, Kelly said that Alcock has “created problems for herself” with comments from her own interviews.
In the March Vanity Fair interview Kelly refers to, Alcock said of starring on Game of Thrones, “It definitely made me aware that simply existing as a woman in that space is something that people comment on. We have become very comfortable having this weird ownership of women’s bodies. I can’t really stop them. I can only be myself.”
Kelly found that comment laughable and belittled the star, saying, “You were in light porn. Game of Thrones … is soft porn. Who does she think she’s kidding?”

Kelly also took issue with Alcock calling her character a “modern woman” who has become a meaningful character for LGBTQ+ fans.
In a recent interview Alcock did for Variety, she said of her character: “She can be strong, she can be tough, she can be messy. And I love how this film doesn’t centre around any sort of love or romance or anything like that at all. She has such resilience – and I think that [the LGBTQ+] community is so, so resilient. I’m really honoured that they can connect to her.”

Kelly was not down with Alcock’s “woke” casting, saying the studio should just give the audience what they want.
“If you want to make young men love it, pick somebody who’s really hot and into men and is telegraphing to the audience like, ‘I like you. I don’t hate your guts,’” Kelly said.

She then compared Alcock to Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot, who carried the film to a smashing $US824 million ($1.1 billion) worldwide success at the global box office.
“You look at Gal Gadot … Yes. OK. I think men are going to like that. And they did,” Kelly said. “You look at this strange little person with the weird teeth. It’s like – and then she’s out there lecturing them on how she hates male-centered relationships and this character may be queer and a girl boss. What did they think was going to happen?”
According to Deadline, Supergirl has been disappointing for Warner Bros. raking in just $US68 million ($98 million) worldwide in its opening weekend.
The film cost a staggering $US185 million ($267 million) to make.
