Mollie Gallagher starring with two soap icons in huge role after leaving Coronation Street
Mollie has a brand new look

For all the Coronation Street fans broken hearted over the impending departure of actor Mollie Gallagher, don’t panic. You can see her taking to the stage soon, in a role that couldn’t be more different to to Nina Lucas.
One of the most intriguing, funny and original characters to ever walk the Cobbles, Nina the chirpy, goodnatured Victorian Goth rocked up back in 2019 as the long lost nice of Roy Cropper (David Neilson), who was stunned to discover he had a long-lost brother named Richard.
After Richard died, Nina moved to Weatherfield to live with her uncle and soon became more integral to Roy’s Rolls than a bacon barm. She’s had her fair share of major stories too.
Inspired by the tragic real life murder of Sophie Lancaster, Nina and her boyfriend Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni), were viciously ambushed and beaten by Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) and his gang simply because of Nina’s alternative goth appearance.
Sadly, Mollie Gallagher’s decision to bow out of the Soap means the sun is setting on Nina’s time on the Cobbles, which will come as devastating news for any fans holding out hope of her romantic reunion with bezzie mate Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey).
However, it seems Mollie will be swapping the Cobbles of Weatherfield for a padded cell as she joins the cast of Silence of The Lambs.
Mollie will taking a starring role in a stage production of the classic horror film first released in 1991 as Clarice Starling, the brilliant but troubled FBI agent who must work with cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal Lecter to bring another murderer to justice.
The role of Lecter himself will be played by Johnny Partridge, who played Christian Clarke on Eastenders, best known for his steamy yet tortured affair with Syed Masood (Marc Elliot). The actor reposted the teaser for the play on Instagram, posted originally by @sotlplay.
The role of Clarice’s mentor Jack Crawford will be played by Oliver Farnworth, who ironically played Emmerdale’s own twisted serial killer John Sugden.
Sam Jackson, bet known for his role in the Channel 4 coming of age drama skins, will play the dangerous murderer Clarice is determined to catch, Buffalo Bill.
Fans were quick to take to Instagram to show their support for Mollie’s new role.

‘Had my tickets booked for ages! So happy that Mollie is in this’ wrote one fan.
‘you are amazing Mollie!!’ wrote another.
The excitement wasn’t restricted to viewers. Mollie’s co-star Beth Nixon, who plays manipulative predator Megan Walsh on the show, shared her support. OH MY GOD I CANT WAIT! So proud of you!’ she gushed.
The play is directed by Nikolai Foster, adapated for the stage by writer Gina Gionfriddo and will be touring the UK from August.
