Shocking Coronation Street murder twist for Tim as woman’s dead body is found

As one Coronation Street murder investigation looks to be on the way to wrapping up, another is just beginning after Tim Metcalfe’s (Joe Duttine) shocking discovery in tonight’s episode.

Last week, Tim’s cousin Richie (Nathan Sussex) arrived on the cobbles, with the pair reconnecting after several years.

Richie joined Tim and his friends for an evening of drinks, before crashing on Tim’s sofa for the night.

However, this caused an argument between Richie and his wife Rachel, which resulted in Richie being thrown out.

He returned to Tim’s couch for another night – much to Sally Metcalfe’s (Sally Dynevor) irritation – asserting that his marriage was over.

Not wanting to see his cousin facing hard times, Tim encouraged Richie to try and make amends with Rachel, pointing out that he and Sally had had rows in the past and managed to come through it.

Having dropped Richie off, Tim shared his pride at having helped his cousin with Sally.

When he then found Richie’s wallet between the couch cushions, he headed to his place to return it.

Richie opened the door and it didn’t take Tim long to realise that something was wrong – even before he spotted the blood on his shirt.

Though Richie tried to keep him out, Tim barged into the house, asking where Rachel was.

When he reached the back room, he got his answer, as he turned to ask Richie what he’d done.

Later this week, Tim and Sally are set to get a visit from DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers), announcing that Richie has been arrested for Rachel’s murder.

How will Tim feel about trying to reunite Richie and Rachel, knowing that she ended up dead?
