EASTENDERS star Sophie Khan Levy has made a shock exit from the BBC soap after three years – becoming the SIXTH star to leave the embattled soap.
The actress – who plays Priya Nandra-Hart in the Albert Square saga – suddenly fled Walford in today’s episode after being blackmailed by Cindy Beale over the DNA results of her baby.
Cindy discovered Max is the father of Priya’s baby and not Ravi, so demanded she leave Walford or she would expose the secret.
But despite Priya confessing all to Ravi and him begging her to stay, she left anyway – becoming the latest character to depart the Square.
It is currently unclear whether Sophie has left permanently, or if Priya will be back in Albert Square.
The Sun has reached out to EastEnders for comment.
Ravi actor Aaron Thiara will soon follow in Sophie’s footsteps, leaving the show, as will actors Kellie Bright and Charlie Suff.
Oscar Branning star Pierre Counihan-Moullier has also quit the show, while Michelle Ryan’s character Zoe Slater was sensationally killed off earlier this month.
Former Channel 4 commissioning executive Ben Wadey took over as EastEnders executive producer last year.
Among his first big decisions were bringing back past faces including Zoe and Oscar.
In the current storyline, Priya began sleeping with notorious womaniser Max in June.
This began after Cindy initially rejected Max’s marriage proposal – with he and Priya nursing individual heartbreaks.
Ravi was away at a mental health facility at the time and discovered everything upon his return.
He abducted and threatened Max, although Priya intervened before any serious harm occurred.
And after falling pregnant, it soon became clear to Priya that Max, not Ravi, was the father.
