Tim pulls in detective Lisa as murder dilemma rocks him on Coronation Street

Poor Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) has found himself up to his eyeballs in a Coronation Street murder investigation that’s far too close to home. Thank goodness he lives on the same street as a copper…

Tim is a simple chap.

When he bumped into his estranged cousin, Richie (Nathan Sussex), all he wanted was a few pints and a bit of nostalgia. The last thing he expected was to discover that his dear old cuz had killed his own wife, Rachel in self defence after a heated row.

Unfortunately, if Tim hadn’t encouraged Richie to go home and make amends with Rachel, she might still be alive.

This guilt is surely the reason that he decided to take Richie’s deeply traumatised daughter Lucy Parkinson (Anya Lewis), a decision that is not going down well with Tim’s wife Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor).

Manly because Lucy is a demon child out to get her.

Viewers have seen concerning behaviour from the troubled teen that goes way beyond grief or PTSD, such as daring fellow foster kid Shanice Michaelis to walk alone to the shop by herself or pinching herself to make it look like Sally hurt her by grabbing her arm. She’s also set to have an explosive reaction when Sally finds her art project and asks if it’s about her mum.

However, Tim is more troubled by Richie than Lucy right now, after a recent prison visit turned sinister when his cousin demanded that he back up his self-defense story by lying to the police that Rachel was abusive.

Obviously, Tim was never going to agree to perverting the cause of justice about a womanhe never met. This prompted Richie to fly into a rage. And after a prison guard warned Tim that Richie has a short fused and has already fought multiple cellmates, Tim was left worried that his cousin that Richie may have intentionally murdered his wife.

Fortunately, there’s a copper on the Cobbles not too many doors down from Tim. I’m talking of course, about the woman, the legend, DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers).

She already got to the bottom of Theo Silverton’s (James Cartwright) murder, now she’s back on the case to help Tim out, when he confides his doubts about the circumstances of Rachel’s death in upcoming scenes of Coronation Street.

Tim confides in Lisa how Richie tried to pressurise him into telling the police that Rachel was abusive towards him but he refused and now he’s worried Richie might be putting Lucy under the same pressure. Unbeknownst to Tim, Lucy listens in.

When Sally and Tim find Lucy sleepwalking, Sally tries to guide her back to bed, Lucy lashes out and breaks down sobbing, declaring that everything is her fault.

Perturbed, Tim finds reminds Lisa about their conversation regarding Richie and Lucy and asks her to look into it.

It seems no conversation is safe from eavesdroppers in Coronation Street as Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) listens in.

Given the fact that Christina has some kind of creepy connection to Rachel, it’s safe to say there’s more to the night of this mysterious murder than meets the eye.

Will Lisa help Rachel get to the truth?
