Emmerdale’s Olivia Bromley emotionally bids goodbye to soap three weeks after Dawn’s devastating death left fans bereft

EMMERDALE star Olivia Bromley has bid goodbye to the ITV1 soap three weeks after her character Dawn Fletcher was killed off.
Dawn was involved in a terrifying car crash on her wedding day and later died in hospital after giving birth to her baby boy.

Now she’s taken to Instagram to officially say goodbye to this chapter of her life.
She shared a series of pictures from her eight years on the soap as she posed up a storm with her co-stars in the various snaps.
Olivia wrote: “8 years of a lovely job.
“This is an absurdly late post, but I have been so blown away by all the lovely messages about Dawn’s exit and it has meant so much! So thank you.
“And to Teresa who simply messaged ‘You’re dead, get over it’ – I KNOW OKAY.”
Her fans rushed to the comments section as one penned: “Still don’t want to believe Dawn’s gone. Best of luck with what’s next!”
Another person gushed: “One of Emmerdale’s best!!”
Somebody else commented: “Gutted that Dawn is gone.

“You’ve done a brilliant job in portraying a character that has so much thrown at her and fighting to make her life worth living.”
Yet another said: “So proud of you Olivia, Dawn will be missed.”
While a fifth added: “Missing you and wish you were still in it.”
Dawn’s wedding day to Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) descended into chaos when Jimmy King (Nick Miles) crashed his car into the reception.
The following episode saw mum-to-be Dawn go into an early labour, but despite giving birth, she had a sudden haemorrhage which led her into a cardiac arrest.
Doctors explained to Joe that “they tried, but couldn’t save her”.
Fans were left devastated and took to X at the time as one said: “Dawn and Joe never got to have their first dance.”
Another bemoaned: “Jimmy didn’t deserve this. Dawn didn’t deserve this.”

The Sun exclusively revealed actress Olivia’s exit back in March.
She arrived in the village back in 2018, but after eight years, bosses decided they had done all they can with her much-loved character.
A source said at the time: “Olivia is adored by everyone at Emmerdale so the decision to axe her has not gone down well at all.
“She’s a popular member of the cast and if they can get rid of Olivia then the feeling is virtually no-one is safe.
“Olivia understood their decision and is preparing to film her exit in the coming months.”
