Emmerdale star reveals he’s moved into a caravan after signing full-time contract on the soap

The actor revealed he has been driving up and down the A1 “like a maniac”

A TOP Emmerdale star has revealed he’s moved into a caravan after joining the soap full-time.

The actor has found a home away from home in Leeds to cut down on his lengthy commute from his base in Hertfordshire.

Chris Coghill has set up a caravan in Leeds to stay in while filming Emmerdale

Chris Coghill, who plays villain-turned-funnyman Kev Townsend in the ITV soap, revealed his new living arrangements exclusively to The Sun.

Speaking to us at the Inside Soap Awards, Chris said: “I’m driving up and down the A1 like a maniac. I live in Hertfordshire. I go home at the weekends. I’ve just put a caravan in Leeds. I bring it down with me.”

Caravan supplier MTL Caravans and Motorhomes also recently shared a video of Chris taking the delivery of his new home.

In the clip, a company rep said: “Delivering this to Chris so that he has somewhere to stay while filming Emmerdale.”

Chris then declared: “This is going to be the home of Kevin Towsend, when he’s in the Yorkshire Dales.”

His decision to put down roots in Leeds comes after his character caused chaos in the Dales.

Kev arrived in the village as Robert Sugden’s estranged husband, throwing his reunion with Aaron Dingle into turmoil.

The pair had married while serving time in prison, and Kev later falsely claimed he was terminally ill to keep Robert by his side.

When Kev discovered Robert and Aaron had rekindled their romance behind his back, he confronted them with a samurai sword.

He held the couple and village doctor Liam Cavanagh hostage, seriously injuring Robert during the terrifying showdown.

A separate twist revealed that Kev was the biological father of Lewis Barton, played by Bradley Riches.

Since returning to the village, Kev has been trying to build a relationship with his long-lost son.

Actor Chris is no stranger to some of Britain’s biggest TV shows, with credits including EastEnders, Shameless, Slow Horses, Line of Duty and Waterloo Road.

He has also appeared in Silent Witness, The Gold, The Bay, Cold Feet and Casualty, while his big-screen roles include 24 Hour Party People and Nowhere Boy.
