1. Kit decides to be honest with Bethany

Sarah is dismayed when Kit refuses to be one of her character witnesses in court.
When Bethany questions his reluctance, Kit explains that he has to focus on himself right now as he’s about to start receiving treatment for breast cancer.
2. Brody and Kit share an emotional moment

As Kit prepares for his first chemotherapy session, he decides that he wants to have his head shaved.
When Brody pays a visit, Kit hands over an electric razor and asks him to carry out the task.
3. Kit’s chemotherapy begins

Bernie joins Kit for his first appointment. Kit distracts himself by opening up to Bernie, sharing stories of the childhood she missed.
Later, Brody continues to show his vulnerability as he tells Kit that he needs him more than ever.
4. Sarah discovers Kit is unwell

Bethany and Todd visit Sarah ahead of her trial. Sarah insists that she understands Kit’s decision not to help her, believing that he’s putting his career first.
Todd explains that Sarah doesn’t have the full story and reveals that Kit has breast cancer. As Sarah reacts in shock, Bethany is surprised that Todd has been so indiscreet.
5. Bethany suggests an escape route

Bethany tells Sarah that there’s still time to turn her case around by throwing Gary under the bus.
Sarah is still reluctant to turn against the one person who helped her on the night of Theo’s death, but Bethany points out that her family need her – and Kit does too. Will Sarah take this on board?
6. Gary’s son moves out

Gary upsets Jake and Liam with the revelation that he might end up in prison for helping Sarah on the night of Theo’s death. Jake then starts acting up in school and is suspended for fighting.
After accusing Gary of not caring about him, Jake heads out without permission and spends the night at Izzy’s place. Jake later warns Gary that he put Sarah before his own son, so he won’t be moving home anytime soon.
7. Sarah’s trial gets off to an upsetting start

The trial begins and the prosecution barrister wastes no time painting Sarah in a negative light, claiming that she plotted to kill Theo because she was angered by his treatment of Todd.
Lisa and Danielle both give evidence, further damaging Sarah’s case. David accuses Lisa of sabotaging Sarah’s defence, then berates Kit for his inaction.
8. Todd is next to give evidence

Todd considers avoiding the trial because he can’t bear to speak about Theo’s abuse in such a public setting. Tyrone intervenes, suggesting that Todd will be helping himself as well as Sarah if he discloses the truth.
When Todd gives his testimony, will his powerful words provide hope for Sarah’s future, or will he crumble under the pressure?
9. Kit heads to court

After Gary gives evidence, Bethany makes one last plea to Kit to do the right thing and defend Sarah in court. He finally relents under the pressure and heads to take the stand – but what will he say?
Later, Sarah tells Bethany that she wants her to have custody of Harry if she ends up receiving a guilty verdict…
10. Nick causes chaos for Speed Daal

Leanne gets nervous when Tracy accuses Speed Daal of giving her family food poisoning. For once, it’s not just Tracy causing trouble, as other customers raise concerns too.
An investigation reveals that all of the meat served the night before was past its sell-by date – and Nick was responsible for accepting the delivery. This naturally poses the question of whether Nick saw an opportunity to sabotage the rival business.
11. Debbie faces more work confusion

Debbie is still trying to cover the fact that her memory lapses are becoming more frequent. When she forgets that she has time off and prepares to head off to work as normal, Debbie claims that she had important meetings that couldn’t be cancelled.
Ronnie is grateful when Ryan plays along by keeping Debbie busy at the hotel, but she’s annoyed when she realises they’re talking about her.
12. Debbie’s imagination runs away with her

Debbie finds a leaflet for a care home in the bin at home and starts to worry about what Ronnie has planned for her. She comes up with the wild theory that Ronnie doesn’t want to live with her because he’s seeing someone else.
She asks Abi to help get to the bottom of the situation. Abi is shocked when she finds Ronnie with a mystery woman, but he clarifies that she’s from a dementia support group that he’s trying to convince Debbie to attend.
13. Ronnie tries to reassure Debbie

Ronnie attempts to allay Debbie’s paranoia by insisting that he’s not having an affair.
The couple try to look forward as they have the honeymoon suite booked for Ronnie’s birthday, but Debbie soon realises that she has messed up by hiring it out to someone else.
14. Sam faces online bullying

Sam is saddened when he reads a string of nasty comments on a school chat group, which are all directed towards him.
Hope is the lone voice who defends Sam, but can she influence the other teens? And will Idris be any help when Sam reaches out to him for advice?
15. Nick’s in trouble – but Toyah smells a rat

Nick experiences problems with the Bistro, as there are negative online reviews and a drop in takings. With Nick unable to pay the meat supplier, Leanne suggests that he’d be better off selling the business.
Toyah accuses Leanne of scheming with Idris to sabotage the Bistro so Nick will sell to them at a knock-down price. Is she right?
16. Tyrone is unimpressed by Ross’s idea of fun

Ross takes Tyrone and Dorin along to a local boxing gym, despite his son’s reluctance.
After what Ross believes to have been a successful night, he suggests they should go every week. Tyrone dismisses the idea, leaving Ross annoyed.
17. Ken gives Daniel an idea

Ken lets Daniel know about a piece of land that belongs to the school which has hit the headlines.
Amid plans to sell the land for a profit, Ken urges Daniel to put up a fight so it can be used for the good of the pupils.
