EastEnders fans left gobsmacked as they learn star’s real age – despite playing character over a decade younger
The actor joined the soap in the summer playing 21-year-old Ryder
EASTENDERS fans have been left floored after finding out one of the soap’s stars is a decade younger than the character he plays.
In the summer, viewers watched as the Hawkins family arrived in Walford, with the youngest member of the brood being Ryder.
However, it’s now been revealed the real age of the actor who portrays him.
Felix Uff plays Ryder, who is Nicola Mitchell’s nephew, and despite his character being 21, the soap star is in fact 32.
This news has left fans gobsmacked, and they quickly headed to social media to discuss.
Starting off the conversation on X, a fan tweeted: “Biggest #EastEnders mystery forget NY27 it is……. How old is Ryder?!
“Nicola calls him kid and I know characters don’t usually match their real life ages but look believable whereas Ryder is 32 IRL and he doesn’t give off an early 20’s vibe.”
Another agreed: “The #EastEnders writers are working overtime to convince us Ryder is 21!
“First he’s mocking Nicola for saying ‘phone’, then questioning a girl’s taste in 90s music… all while being played by a 32-year-old. They’re fighting for their lives to make this man seem Gen Z!”
A third chimed in: “Why is a 32 year old playing a 21 year old may I ask?”
EastEnders is Felix’s biggest role to date, but the drama graduate has also had smaller parts in shows like Outlander.
Meanwhile, on last night’s EastEnders, the star’s character Ryder had a pivotal moment on the soap.
It came when he revealed he was gay to his auntie Nicola.
Ryder then confessed that he had never told anyone in the family, even his mum Gemma.
