EastEnders fans caught a mistake in the BBC soap’s New Year’s Day flash-forward

EASTENDERS viewers have spotted a fresh blunder in the show’s New Year’s Day flash-forward – but did you notice it?
At the start of the year, the BBC soap gave viewers a glimpse of Walford on January 1, 2027.

Womaniser Max Branning (Jake Wood) is gearing up to get married – only he had an unidentified pregnant woman in his flat.
Max got spooked after realising police had arrived in Albert Square to apprehend him.
He escaped through a back window and proceeded to hide from the officers.
Taking to TikTok, one fan soon pointed out a problem with this particular scene.

They penned: “Police raid and none of them watching the rear of the property.”
Although Max’s escape was short-lived as he was caught and arrested for solicitation to murder.
As of writing, the exact circumstances behind why Max would be arrested have yet to be revealed on-screen.
This and the identity of the mystery woman will be unveiled by January 1, 2027, when the flash forward’s secrets are fully exposed.
The soap has already been forced to change some things after Radio host Scott Mills was sacked by the BBC – despite featuring in a cameo role.
Ben Wadey, EastEnders Executive Producer previously said: “For the first time in the show’s history, we’re going to be offering our viewers an entire flashforward episode set on New Year’s Day 2027.
“2026 is going to be full of drama in Walford, especially for the Brannings, and the episode is sure to raise plenty of questions on how Max has got himself, and his family, into such predicaments, but all is not what it seems, so stay tuned for 2026 to find out how and why…”
The show previously used a flashforward to launch The Six storyline that gave viewers a hint about Christmas in February.
That ended up seeing Keanu Taylor murdered by Linda Carter and covered up with the other women’s help.
