Corrie star slams Emmerdale rivals in foul-mouthed rant branding cast ‘estate scuffers’ who were ‘lucky to have jobs’
CORONATION Street star Kelli Hollis has launched a foul-mouthed rant against her former soap Emmerdale for killing her off in a new interview.
The actress, 50, who previously quit fame to sell weed in Thailand, returned to the limelight earlier this year on the cobbles.
But now speaking in a new interview, Kelli has hit out at the show that made her famous.
Kelli, who played Ali Spencer in Emmerdale between 2011 and 2015, said: “I probably shouldn’t say this because I’ve just done a touch on Corrie…”
“But I always used to say at dos Corrie are like the posh snobby auntie at a wedding, and Emmerdale is your council estate scuffers who have just rocked up and are going to cause s**t at the wedding.
“That’s always like the vibe, I’m not saying that’s what… that’s like the energy.”
Liam Fox, who played Dan Spencer between 2011 and 2023, then added to the Plane Comedy podcast: “I always thought Emmerdale were all grateful for a job.”
Kelli then replied: “F**k them. We’re not going back, I’m dead.”
Later in the podcast Kelli said she was “absolutely fuming” that her co-star Liam had also been axed from the show saying it was a “big big mistake”.
Back in February The Sun exclusively revealed that Kelli was returning to acting on rival soap Corrie – after moving to Thailand to sell cannabis.
She played Ali Spencer on Emmerdale for four years before turning her back on fame in 2020.
Kelli has since appeared on our screens as her new alter-ego.
The Sun exclusively revealed that she will take on the role of Queen Bee of Weatherfield’s women’s prison as Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney), and is jailed for causing the multi-car pile-up in Corriedale.
A source said at the time: “Corrie bosses wanted someone who could really make an impact and knew Kelli would be perfect for the guest role.
“She’s been away from Emmerdale for over a decade now, so the soap fans are going to love seeing her back on our screens.
“Although her character is going to leave them shocked because she is not very nice at all and is set to make Debbie’s life hell.”
The soap star took a break from acting and went travelling before settling in Thailand and opened a bar selling the drug.
