New trailer for cult flick confirms Hollywood worst-kept secret

Universal Pictures has dropped the trailer for Supergirl and while fans are cheering about one moment, there’s another I can’t bear to watch.

The new official trailer for Warner Bros’ “Supergirl” has just dropped ahead of its June release and I already hate it.

Yes, we can get excited about seeing Aussie actress Milly Alcock take on the lead role in the DC studios cult franchise flick.

But something bad happens to her dog, Krypto, and I hate films where something bad happens to the dog.

The new trailer begins with a pep talk between Kara Zor-E (aka Supergirl) and Clark Kent (aka Superman), where the OG superhero expresses his concern for the heroine who appears to have cut herself off from the superhero world, making it harder for her to find “her people.”

“That’s the thing, Clark. I have no people,” she replies as her fluffy white pooch charges towards her. He is her people.

For Supergirl, home is where ever Krypto is, so when he is struck down, she is forced back into the world she has been trying to avoid – this time with an unlikely companion, young alien girl, Knolle.

When the first teaser was released in December last year, eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out a dark character emerging from the shadows, seemingly confirming that Jason Momoa will be taking on the character of Lobo, the intergalactic bounty hunter.

Rumours of the Aquaman star making an appearance in the blockbuster directed by Craig Gillespie had already been swirling for some time.

While viewers got a little tease at the time, the new trailer truly shows what we can expect from the actor in the iconic role.
