Emmerdale’s Dawn Fletcher hatches wedding plan as she plots Joe’s downfall

Will he cotton on to what she's doing?

Emmerdale spoilers follow for the latest episode to air on ITV1 and stream on ITVX.

Emmerdale‘s Dawn Fletcher started to put her plan to take down Joe Tate into action in tonight’s episode, taking her first steps into manipulating him for her own ends.

Earlier this week, Dawn made a pact with Moira and Cain Dingle to take all of Joe’s money, and share it with them as compensation for how his scheming put Moira in prison and lost them the farm. But they agreed that she needs to be sneaky about it – which is easier said than done when both Joe and father figure Graham Foster are very slippery people.

Tonight’s episode began with Kim congratulating Dawn on “the new Tate heir”, with Dawn then calling Joe out on revealing their news before she had even had her scan.

Later on, Dawn could barely contain her annoyance that Joe was raising Robert Sugden’s rent due to “market forces” and the “principle” of it (ie: because he could), something even Kim agreed with her on.

The mood got lighter when Dawn showed the baby scan photo to son Lucas, and talked about how they along with Evan and Clemmie were all going to be a big happy family once the baby arrived, notedly not naming Joe.

Joe himself then turned up, and once Lucas left the room, she approached her fiancé with an idea.

“What do you say about bringing the wedding forward?” she suggested. “I just want to fit in a dress and look good in the photos and I want to be a proper family, before this one arrives.”

“Well, how can I say no to that?” Joe eagerly replied, before starting to kiss her on the hands. She pulled away, making the excuse that she was starting to feel a bit sick due to the pregnancy,

She asked him for space, and as soon as he left the room, her smile dropped again.

Can she get away with her plan, or will her disdain for Joe mean that she’ll be discovered?
