Is a ‘Summer House’ and ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Collab in the Works?

Fans of “Summer House” and “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” probably didn’t expect the two reality TV worlds to overlap. However, a recent conversation on the “Giggly Squad” podcast sparked speculation after Hannah Berner opened up about her growing connection to the Mormon reality franchise.
From recognizing one cast member from her tennis days to receiving a surprising DM from Mayci Neeley, fans are now wondering whether an unexpected crossover could be brewing. Read on to discover more.
Hannah Berner Gives a “Mormon Update” on ‘Giggly Squad’
On one of the latest episodes of “Giggly Squad,” a podcast hosted by “Summer House” alums Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo, Berner started out the pod by sharing with fans, “Quick Mormon update.”
She continued, adding, “The girls in the New Mormon show aren’t all Mormon. So, people were like telling me that and I was like, ‘How was I supposed to know? It’s called the New Mormon Show.’”
The show in question is “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County,” a spinoff of the original “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” which is based in Utah and follows a group of Mormon moms.
The spinoff features McCall DaPron, Aspyn Ovard, Avery Woods, Bobbi Althoff, Salomé Andrea, Ashleigh Pease, Madison Bontempo, and Chandler Higginson. Original MomTok star Jen Affleck is also set to join the cast of Orange County.
DeSorbo then joked, “Is this a new segment we have weekly? It’s like updating the Mormon community.”
Hannah Berner Realized She Already Knew One ‘Mormon Wives’ Cast Member
On a previous episode of the podcast, Berner highlighted that she actually knew one of the new cast members of the Orange County spinoff.
She shared with listeners, “And one of them is McCall. That’s a very specific name, and something goes off in my head. I said, ‘McCall,’ and I look at her face because it’s been a long time. And I realize that was one of the top tennis players in juniors. She was like a year older than me.”
Berner added, “But she has a different last name. And I’m like good with faces. And obviously her name’s McCall… so her name was McCall Jones. So, I Google it. She played for UCLA. She’s like so good.”
Hannah Berner played collegiate tennis for the Wisconsin Badgers from 2009 to 2013. In contrast, DaPron played tennis at BYU from 2008 to 2010. She then transferred to UCLA, graduating in 2011.
McCall DaPron’s younger sister, Mayci Neeley, also played collegiate tennis at BYU. Neeley has been a star of the original “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” since season one, which premiered on Hulu in September 2024.
Hannah Berner Says Mayci Neeley Reached Out After the Podcast Episode
Berner then teased that a little “Summer House” and “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” collab might be in the works, sharing with fans that Mayci Neeley actually reached out to her after the previous podcast episode aired.
Berner joked, “Our Mormon correspondents are in my DMs!” She continued, sharing, “And then Mayci, from the other Mormon show, DM’d me and was like, ‘Hi, girly. We have to play tennis!’ So, I’m in with all the tennis reality girls finally!”
While there’s no official crossover between “Summer House” and “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” in the works, Berner’s growing connection to the Mormon reality TV world has certainly caught fans’ attention.
Between shared tennis backgrounds, podcast shoutouts, and a friendly DM from Mayci Neeley, the idea of the two reality TV worlds overlapping suddenly doesn’t feel so far-fetched. Even if the collaboration never makes it to television, it sounds like the first crossover could happen on the tennis court.
