EastEnders lines up Grant Mitchell exit story in desperate escape from police

EastEnders’ Branning family goes head-to-head with the Mitchells next week, leading to all-out war in Walford!
Convinced that Mark is up to no good with Lauren, and dealing in stolen vehicles at the car lot, Max is a man on a mission to expose the corrupt activity. But will the Brannings come out on top?
“Max trusts Mark about as far as he can throw him,” reveals our Square insider. “He’s already suspicious that Lauren is involved in something dodgy. But all his digging might come to nothing with Phil and Grant standing in his way…”
After Lauren successfully sells more cars than Max and wins the Branning bet, her dad agrees to stick to their deal and hand over half the business.
However, he’s already wary of where the cars she sold came from, and he’s clueless that Lauren’s fully involved in a car scam with Mark! But a clumsy mistake from Mark could change all that.
Max’s trail of evidence begins with finding a set of keys in the car lot – ones Mark accidentally dropped – and they happen to open the door to the Mitchell house! Max shares his suspicions with Cindy, but on the doorstep, the Mitchell siblings completely dismiss Max’s accusation.
“This is Max and Cindy – they don’t go quietly!” says our source. “They go public right as Lauren is enjoying her big moment at the new car lot unveiling, pointing the finger at Mark. And they have proof…”
But there’s a huge shock for everyone involved when Mark denies it all, and Grant steps up to take the fall! Covering his son’s crimes to make up for years of neglect, Grant takes all the credit.
Even though Cindy can see right through him, Max threatens to call the police. But Max doesn’t realise there’s a traitor in the ranks…
“As soon as Lauren spots the police, she tips off the Mitchells!” teases our insider. “Lauren’s showing just how far she’ll go to get what she wants, even if that means betraying her dad and cosying up to Mark.”
Max directs the officers towards Phil’s house, but the Mitchells aren’t hanging around. Sam has already made plans to join Grant in Portugal, and it might be now or ever. Phil waits in the car with Sam – but will Grant flee the police in time?
