EastEnders’ dangerous new Lauren decision starts a new chapter of chaos
Could business lead to an illicit romance?

EastEnders‘ Lauren Branning has given in to temptation and decided to continue her risky business with Mark Fowler, as the pair’s chemistry grows stronger.
Tonight’s (21 May) episode of EastEnders saw Lauren winning the bet with her dad Max. As she managed to sell £80,000 worth of cars, Max signed the ownership of Maximum Motors to his daughter, who celebrated at the Queen Vic with husband Peter Beale and their loved ones.
“I’m actually going to miss it,” Lauren told Peter, as she glanced over at Mark. “Closing deals.”
Fans know that Lauren managed to hit her target thanks to a dodgy deal with Mark, who’s been sourcing stolen vehicles for her to sell on the car lot.
The two initially decided to put a stop to their dealings once Lauren had got her hands on Maximum Motors, but the intoxicating mix of danger and excitement ended up having the better of her as she made Mark a business proposal.
Meanwhile, Max sensed Lauren could have been involved in some criminal activity with Mark and quizzed Priya Nandra-Hart about him. She hesitated at first, but ultimately confirmed that he was “involved in some really bad stuff” with the same gang Ravi Gulati was involved with.
Priya insisted Mark was “dangerous” as Max looked concerned for his daughter, but will he actually speak up?
In the final scenes, Lauren went to see Mark at the gym. After a nasty brawl between him and his dad Grant erupted at the pub, Lauren realised Mark needed some fast cash to repay him and suggested they could continue with their business scheme.
Mark smiled and assured her that he’d be the one to take the fall if their scheme was discovered. The two shook hands and stared into each other’s eyes. Is there more to this partnership than strictly business?
EastEnders previously aired a flashforward to Max’s wedding day on New Year’s Day 2027, seeing Lauren agreeing to meet someone in the Square. While she appears to be still with Peter, could this mystery person be Mark?
