Emmerdale confirms Joe Tate’s future after Dawn’s ultimatum
Will he stick to his promises?

Emmerdale‘s producer Laura Shaw has addressed Joe Tate’s uncertain future after his fiancée Dawn Fletcher gave him a final warning last week.
Joe is currently at a crossroads after Dawn ordered him to end his long-running feud with the Dingle family – or she’d lose faith in their relationship and leave him.
Last week’s episodes saw pregnant Dawn consider fleeing from the village after conning Joe out of thousands of pounds.
Dawn had turned ruthless after seeing various glimpses of Joe’s dark side and how it threatened to impact her kids.
Since then, though, Joe has promised to change his ways and has even tried to make peace with long-time rival Moira Dingle for Dawn’s sake.
Is this the start of a new chapter – or will Joe fail to stick to his promises?
“Dawn and Joe are a real love story for me,” Laura explained in an exclusive Inside Soap chat. “While Joe’s done some dastardly things, Dawn sees something in Joe that not everyone else does.
“Joe’s a flawed man because of everything that’s happened to him as a child. Losing his father, and all those sorts of things, has made him the person that he is.”
She added: “But I think what Dawn sees in him is hope – that there’s a person in there that does want to be a family man and a good person.
“She’s constantly hoping that she can win that side out of him, and if she can, those two can absolutely live happily ever after as a big family…”
Emmerdale fans have seen Joe at his most cruel over the past few months, as he was the early mastermind behind Moira being framed for Celia Daniels’ and Ray Walters’ crimes.
Although the situation spiralled far beyond what Joe had initially expected, he still kept quiet when Moira was accused of double murder and human trafficking.
Moira’s ordeal led to her giving up her beloved Butlers Farm and selling up to the Tates. Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle have since moved in as tenant farmers, rebranding the familiar location as Emmerdale Farm.
