1. Charity and Cain bond over their challenges

Charity and Cain share a heart-to-heart over their recent struggles. Cain has recently learned that his cancer has spread, and Charity’s difficulties have escalated after the cruel Dr Todd sexually assaulted her.
But while Charity urges Cain to talk things through with Moira and Liam, she declines to go into detail about her own pain.
2. Mack fears he’s letting Charity down

Mack confides in Chas that he’s feeling inadequate when it comes to supporting Charity, admitting that he doesn’t have a clue where to start.
Chas, meanwhile, feels guilty about protecting Charity’s secrets.
3. Charity reaches breaking point

Later, Mack tries to talk to Charity, but she rejects the opportunity and doesn’t feel she can be around him.
Feeling totally overwhelmed and on the brink of an emotional breakdown, Charity speeds away in her car.
4. Charity’s loved ones take action

Following her disappearance, Charity’s family set out to find her, but are unsuccessful. They regroup to agree on what to do next.
Fraught with worry, Mack takes the decision to call the police and make a missing person’s report, sharing all the information that he has.
Later, Mack asks Chas if there’s anything she knows that he doesn’t. Will she break Charity’s confidence and share more information with him?
5. Charity has a chance meeting

Charity has driven to a lake and stands alone, staring into the distance. She hears noise behind her, and a stranger emerges.
Having seen that she is clearly in distress, the stranger offers to help. But when she touches Charity to reassure her, she misinterprets the gesture as a threat and hits the other woman.
Quickly, a shaken Charity apologises to the stranger for lashing out, but she suggests that Charity’s reaction was perhaps due to her decision to touch her without consent.
After establishing trust, Charity prepares to open up to the stranger. How much will she share, and will it bring her some comfort after a horrific few months?
6. Ross receives a chilling demand

Ross is feeling stressed following Lewis’s kidnapping, and this only worsens when he receives an ominous message, which states that Lewis will be in serious danger unless his father returns ‘Penny’ to his abductors.
Unclear as to who or what ‘Penny’ is, Ross urges Liam not to get the police involved, and insists that they track down Lewis’s adoptive dad, Jeffrey.
7. Liam makes an important revelation

After attempts to trace Jeffrey fail, Liam finally admits that Kev is Lewis’s biological father.
Determined to save his brother, Ross immediately leaps into action and insists that they find Kev as soon as possible.
Liam manages to convince Claudette to share details of Kev’s whereabouts – telling her it’s a matter of life or death.
8. Ross tracks Kev down – but there’s more trouble ahead

Ross sets out to find Kev, but Kylie confronts him, revealing that she is holding Lewis captive and that he’ll only be released when Kev returns the mysterious ‘Penny’. All she reveals is that ‘Penny’ is “the most precious thing in the world”.
Later, Liam and Ross find Kev selling cakes from his van. However, Ross hasn’t got time for Kev’s attitude, and they get into a scuffle…
9. Kev shares more about the ‘Penny’ mystery

Kev eventually admits that ‘Penny’ is a diamond he sold to a pawn shop, and Ross insists that he buy the gem back.
However, it becomes clear that Kev hasn’t told Ross everything, as he later looks at a diamond around his neck…
10. Kylie leaves Lewis terrified

Lewis is locked in Kylie’s bedroom. Terrified about why he’s been abducted and what could happen, he asks Kylie if she plans to kill him.
Kylie gives a very vague answer, which only frightens Lewis more.
Later, Lewis tries to figure out a way to escape – but he’s unsuccessful, and resigns himself to his potential fate.
11. Kylie steps up her threats

Ross and Liam are increasingly panicked about Lewis’s wellbeing. Kylie turns up the pressure by sending a threatening text to Ross featuring scalpels.
Kylie also puts pressure on Kev directly, video calling him to demand that he brings ‘Penny’ to her by the end of the day. She casually mentions that she spent eight years in the notorious Holloway prison, to emphasise that her threats should be taken seriously.
With time running out, what can Ross, Liam and Kev do to save Lewis?
12. Kev’s lies catch up with him

Kev tells Liam and Ross that, while he did pawn ‘Penny’, the pawn shop sold the diamond on. However, he adds that he was able to locate it and buy it back.
Ross doesn’t buy Kev’s story and knocks him unconscious – telling Liam that he has a plan to use Kev as insurance on their trade.
Later, Ross meets with Kylie to try and negotiate Lewis’s freedom.
13. Caleb digs into the flat deposit scam

After he was scammed into sending £5,000 for a fictitious flat deposit for Steph, Caleb turns his attention to who was responsible for conning him.
Caleb’s suspicions soon fall on Archie, and he sets up a plan to catch him out by offering him paid work at the depot using AI so that he can get a look at his computer setup…
14. Jai and Caleb’s suspicions run wild

Jai spots Caleb and Billy hanging out together and becomes suspicious – could Caleb’s counterfeit goods operation, which is being run out of the depot, be over before it’s even really got going?
However, Caleb is oblivious, as he’s consumed with his own suspicions about both Jai and Kerry…
15. Archie makes a confession

Caleb confirms his suspicions about Archie after finding a folder named ‘Steph’ on the youngster’s laptop.
When Caleb confronts Archie, he panics and claims that Kerry was the brains behind the whole scheme. Will Caleb believe him?
16. Kerry and Caleb are at loggerheads

Caleb swiftly confronts Kerry, and despite her attempts to explain what happened, he threatens to get the police involved.
Trying to stop him from calling the police, Kerry blames Archie for the scam, but he counters by saying Archie blamed her for it all.
As a furious Caleb tells Kerry that she could be facing jail time for the scheme, she makes a counter-threat. What are her demands?
17. Sarah gets a family surprise

There’s a big shock for Sarah as she comes face-to-face with her relative, Serena Sugden.
While further details are scarce, we do know that West End star Casey Al-Shaqsy is joining the ITV soap as Serena, with big storylines on the way for her…
