EastEnders star breaks silence after Bea Pollard’s exit news

Bea is going out with a bang.

EastEnders star Ronni Ancona has weighed in on her character Bea Pollard’s shenanigans as the villain’s arc was recently confirmed to have a shelf life on the Square. Introduced earlier this year as Linda Carter’s high school friend, Ronni has since wreaked havoc in Walford and has now set in motion an evil plan to split up a fan-favourite couple.

Appearing on This Morning, Ancona chatted to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about her time on EastEnders after it was confirmed last week that she would be departing the soap.

But before Bea can leave Walford in her rearview mirror, she’s up to some more scheming as she has Honey and Billy Mitchell in her sights.

“This leads to a big showdown in the Vic and that’s just for starters,” Ancona teased on This Morning. “And that kicks off a whole new level.”

“You always knew she’d have an arc,” Cat Deeley offered, which Ancona confirmed.

“Yes,” she said. “It was a real privilege and I was asked to do it.”

“They wanted to bring some dark humour, sort of malevolence but make it a bit funny.”

“And actually, they’d said to me, ‘It’ll be perfect for you, Ronni. It’s a really annoying, deranged, disturbed character. It’s perfect for you.’ And I’m like, [flatly] ‘Yayyy.'”

After setting up a fake dating app profile for Billy using his AI-generated voice in tonight’s scenes, Bea took things a step further and lied about him trying to seduce her.

She has taken advantage of a delicate moment in Billy and Honey’s marriage to drive a wedge between them, but will she succeed in her mission to break them up?
