Former Eastenders star Gurlaine Kaur Garcha has married her long-term partner in an intimate ceremony. The actor, who played Ash Panesar, shared the happy news via an Instagram post.

Sharing a series of photos from her big day, Garcha simply captioned the post, “17.6.26❣️”. In the photos Garcha and her husband Max are seen holding hands, with the actor wearing a white halter-neck, belted top, with matching trousers while holding a small bouquet of flowers.

In the comments, Garcha was congratulated by her former castmates, including Denise Fox actor Diane Parish who wrote: “Congrats!”, followed by three heart emojis.

Emma Barton, who plays Honey Mitchell, wrote: “Gorgeous… congratulations beautiful”, while Patsy Palmer added: “Congratulations”.

Garcha left Eastenders in March 2023, with the character departing Walford to take a job in Canada following her strained relationship with mum Suki.

Last June, Eastenders viewers were given an update on the character’s new life in Canada when Suki’s wife Eve Urwin discovering on social media that Ash was now engaged.

Coincidentally, the update on Ash coincided with Garcha announcing her own engagement on Instagram, sharing a photo of her posing while wearing a diamond ring captioned: “[very] happy and [very] engaged”.

Following her Eastenders exit Garcha hinted that Ash may make her way back to Walford one day in the future.

“That’s a wrap on Ash, for now. It’s been an amazing three and a half years here at EastEnders,” Garcha said.

“Thank you so much to all the viewers that have loved Ash and her journey… Hopefully it’s not goodbye forever. So you never know, I may see you again soon. But for now, it’s bye, and thank you so much.”
