EastEnders confirms future of Suki and Eve’s big new story
"There's a long way for these two to go."

EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders star Heather Peace has revealed that Suki and Eve Panesar-Unwin’s adoption journey will continue on screen soon, and that there’s much to see from their story.
After getting married last year, Suki and Eve made the decision to become parents together and adopt. Although their decision faced criticism from both Suki’s own children and Eve’s estranged mother, the couple forged ahead with their plans.

However, the story has been put on the back burner on screen in recent months, leaving fans wondering whether the plot will go ahead after all.
Sitting down for an exclusive chat with Inside Soap for the magazine’s first-ever Pride issue, Heather teases that not only will the storyline continue, but also that she hopes it’s educational to real-life couples hoping to adopt.
“We’ve been filming a lot together over the past few months,” teases Heather. “This is such an important storyline to tell, because it shows what a tricky process it can be.
“Because Eve’s been to prison, I would just immediately think it’s off the table, and you’d never be able to adopt if you’ve been to prison. Hopefully this story educates people a little bit, and somebody might apply to adopt who wouldn’t have before.”
As the first ever lesbian couple to wed in EastEnders, Heather also emphasises that she hopes that Suki and Eve will stay together for a long time to come.

“I still think there’s a long way for these two to go,” she muses. “There’s probably loads more trauma for them because it’s EastEnders, but ultimately, a little bit like Kat and Alfie were always endgame, I was hoping that they go down that route with Suki and Eve as well.
“Even if anything were to happen, ultimately, they’d find a way back because that’s how we’ve played it. They’re soulmates and they can’t be apart, even if things go wrong.”
