EastEnders’ Gina makes shock decision about Eddie in early iPlayer release

Will she take action?

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders’ Gina Knight has made a shock decision about her evil grandad Eddie, after his unexpected return to the Square. This month, Nicola Mitchell convinced George to let his father stay with them in his dying days – but we know that this was to get her hands on a large amount of cash from Eddie.

However, Gina, who was deeply affected by Eddie’s racism growing up, was very uncomfortable about George giving his dad another chance.

In today’s episode, Nicola was rushed off her feet, dealing with a leak in the fridge as well as tending to baby Ivy. George offered his help while on his way to an important meeting, and from his bedside, Eddie suggested that he could hold Ivy while they sorted the issue.

However, George refused to entertain his dad’s offer and decided to take Ivy with him to the meeting instead.

Later, Gina found her dad on a bench in the Square with Ivy and approached him, concerned that he had been sitting there for a long period. She realised that he was purposely staying out of the house to avoid spending time with his dad.

Gina understood that he was trying to do right by Eddie, even though he hadn’t done right by him. George admitted that he had been finding this adjustment harder than he’d anticipated.

He disclosed that Eddie moving in was Nicola’s idea before heading off, leaving Gina even more worried about her dad.

Meanwhile, Elaine confronted Nicola in the café about her controversial decision, well aware of how much pain Eddie had caused her ex-husband George.

That evening, Gina’s frustrations grew as her dad didn’t answer her calls. She opened up to Penny, who reasoned that the situation would eventually end as Eddie doesn’t have long to live.

But Gina was still worried about the impact that Eddie’s return was having on her dad, and she decided that she was going to secretly take action to put a stop to it.

“He can’t kick him out,” she agreed. “But one phone call… I mean, that’s all it’s going to take – one call to the prison. Let them know what’s really going on. He ain’t allowed to live with my dad. He’d be back in the nick in no time.”

Penny told Gina that it would be inappropriate to do this now, with Nigel’s funeral taking place the day after tomorrow.

But Gina resolved to make the call as soon as the funeral was over. Will she phone the police on Eddie, and implicate her dad in the process?
