But their investigation goes disastrously wrong, leaving Mia on the run from police and a dangerous drug cartel, all while juggling kids and judgy PTA mums.

Ms. X is directed by New Zealand producer David de Lautour, who also created and co-wrote the series alongside Hannah Marshall.

“Away we go! Australia … you’re up first,” he wrote on Instagram in anticipation of the June 30 premiere date.

“So excited for Ms. X to be making its way into the world. Thanks to our legendary cast and crew. Couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved. Hope you enjoy the ride.”

Ms. X co-stars Dean O’Gorman as Oscar, Mia’s former high school friend who wants to be a private investigator.

In a separate statement, his collaborator Marshall wrote, “Ms. X is a darkly comic look into the New Zealand criminal underworld, that blends our unique brand of kiwi humour with a twisting crime story, made specifically for a global audience.”

The series, which is filmed in New Zealand, is also expected to premiere in New Zealand and the UK in coming months.

Ms. X marks George’s return to Aussie screens. The last time she appeared on an Aussie series was in the 2019 miniseries Bad Mothers.

George became a household name on Home And Away in the 90s.

Most recently, George starred on the American series The Mosquito Coast alongside Justin Theroux.

The drama follows a radical idealist Allie Fox (Theroux) who uproots his wife Margot (George) and their kids to Mexico after being fed up with the corruption in the US, only to find themselves being hunted by the US government.

George grew a strong fanbase after appearing on Home And Away from 1993 to 1996. After leaving the soap and her popular character Angel Parrish behind, she made a name for herself in Hollywood, starring in films such as The Amityville Horror and 30 Days of Night.

Ms. X premieres June 30 on BINGE.
