Home and Away confirms new love interest for David Langham after shooting plot

Love might be blossoming for David Langham in Home and Away following his shooting ordeal. David was left fighting for survival when he was accidentally shot while on duty by fellow officer Richie Brezniak.

As part of the storyline, Wentworth star Nicole da Silva has joined the cast of the Australian soap as doctor Amelia Carlisle, who was rushed to Summer Bay amid the medical emergency to nurse David back to health.

And love appears to be blooming between the pair, with David actor Jeremy Lindsay Taylor explaining to TV Week what is in store for the potential couple.

“Amelia is exceptional at her job, she’s intelligent, and she’s tough, which David likes,” he said. “They respect each other, each admiring the other’s strength.”

But it seems their relationship won’t all be plain sailing, with Nicole previously explaining to New Idea: “It comes laden with challenges, so Amelia has to learn to assuage her impulse to quit and leave town.”

Opening up about joining the soap, the Doctor Doctor actor said: “I remember it being a quick shoot, and a fun and easy learning opportunity when I was still pretty fresh out of drama school.

“Filming is still incredibly fast on set, and while the workload is a little more demanding these days, there’s still that fun energy.”

Explaining why she decided to take on the role, Nicole continued: “My reasons are twofold, or maybe even threefold.

“To be honest, it was a great opportunity, and it came at exactly the right time: I am a single parent, and to be able to live and work in Sydney, where I am raising my daughter, meant we could stay around our community, (and be around) our friends and our family.

“It meant I could provide that consistency — and that was a big, key element.”
