Emmerdale to finally bring back young character after unexplained absence

An Emmerdale character who hasn’t been seen for quite some time will be back on-screen very soon, it has been revealed. Though he is technically still in the village, Elliot Windsor hasn’t appeared in the show since late 2024 – though actor Luca Hoyle has confirmed he is “back in the studio”.
The young performer is currently a Musical Theatre student at the Pendleton School of Theatre, and the institution’s Instagram shared a statement from him today that confirms his comeback to the soap.
“After a short break, I am so excited to say that this summer I am back in the studio filming for a new storyline as Elliot Windsor in Emmerdale,” he said.
“It’s a role I’ve been lucky enough to play since 2016, and it’s such a privilege to still be part of it. Looking forward to seeing where this next chapter goes.”
Perhaps indicating that his return will be short-term, he added that he’ll be back to his studies after the summer holidays, saying: “All of my peers and teachers are incredibly kind and supportive, and I can’t wait to get back in September to start my final year!”
Elliot’s reappearance could well coincide with the upcoming exit of on-screen father Jimmy King, played by Nick Miles. It was reported earlier this year that his long-serving character will soon be killed off during a major stunt, though ITV have not confirmed this.
Also potentially coinciding with Jimmy’s alleged exit is the return of Patsy Kensit as his ex-wife Sadie. Producer Laura Shaw previously teased that her return will be “explosive” and “guaranteed to shock”.
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Patsy Kensit back to the cast and crucially to see the iconic Sadie King storm back into the village,” she said in a statement. “Sadie’s seductive demeanor, combined with her utterly ruthless nature, are set to deliver a spectacular and highly dramatic touch of class to the Yorkshire Dales.”
How Elliot and Sadie’s respective returns play out and whether they’ll be linked to Jimmy’s apparent exit remain to be seen.
