As Charity fights, Dawn and Billy prepare to fly
A powerful confrontation, a plan to break free and some father-son bonding are on the menu next week in Emmerdale.
Pretty bruised but never broken, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) takes on her vile abuser, Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) in next week’s episodes, and despite Todd’s attempts to threaten her into silence, Charity makes it clear that any power she once wielded over her is gone and brands her a rapist. But who snuck in and overheard Charity’s words?
As Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) and Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) wedding draws ever closer, Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) is determined to reclaim his girl, and he and Dawn decide that they should run away with their family, but is their plan feasible, even with Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) help?
Say what you will about Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill), but his determination to be a good dad to Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) is nothing short of admirable. Next week, their bond grows, before Lewis drops an announcement that shakes everything, but what is it?
Elsewhere, Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) continues to struggle with all he’s experienced and Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) is narked off by a refusal.

Sunday, August 9
An empowered Charity summons all of her courage and confronts her vile rapist, Todd, at Jacobs Fold and demands she leave, but Todd refuses, spitting venom at Charity while threatening her with legal action.
As Charity furiously demands a full confession from Todd, she counters with threats to tell Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) the truth about Leyla’s parentage as things get ever more heated. As Charity finally denounces Todd as a rapist, somebody overhears while quietly entering the cottage.
Despite Dawn’s doubts that Joe would traumatise the kids in such a way, Billy digs his heels in and insists that Joe attacked him, leading Dawn to believe him. As she blames herself while lamenting about being trapped with Joe’s baby, Billy suggests that they run away as a family.
Monday, August 10
Desperate Charity continues to cling to her secret.
Meanwhile, in the aftermath of an incident, one villager finds that their life has been turned upside down.
Tuesday, August 11
Dawn finds difficulties with the practical arrangements of Billy’s plan to flee the village, while he answers DS Byrne’s (Dana Haqjoo) questions over his attack.
Caleb, dead set on using Billy’s attack to destroy Joe once and for all, is furious when he clears Joe’s name to the police, but Billy explains that it’s merely a smokescreen.
Hoping to lull Joe into a false sense of security by vindicating him, Billy continues to plan his and Dawn’s escape, and asks Caleb for his help.
Thursday, August 13
When Dylan admits that he’s been struggling, April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) pushes him to consider seeking counselling.
While Kev is overjoyed at Lewis’ offer to spend the day together, he’s equally as concerned at keeping his secret buried. Kev offers to teach Lewis how to ride a bike when he admits that he never learned, but is left panicked when Lewis accepts.
Elsewhere, Dawn’s excitement rises as Billy continues to plot their escape, and their plan is set in motion.
Friday, August 14
It becomes painfully clear that Kev doesn’t know how to ride a bike either when he tries to teach Lewis and ends up crashing. Lewis is touched, rather than hurt and the two bond further as father and son, before Kev is blown away by Lewis’ sudden announcement.
Dawn asks Billy to stay at Home Farm, and they set their sights on Joe’s stag do as the perfect day to flee the village.
Meanwhile, Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) urges Dylan to get counselling, and Ruby is put out when Kev refuses to rob a delivery from Jimmy’s new haulage contract.
