Emmerdale reveals two early slip-ups in Dr Todd death lies
Will Sarah be able to keep her story straight?

Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale‘s Sarah Sugden made two potentially fatal slip-ups tonight as the investigation into Dr Caitlin Todd’s death began. The evil doctor was accidentally killed by Sarah in Sunday’s episode, after she walked in on her confrontation with Charity Dingle.
Dr Todd had spent months terrorising Charity, first blackmailing her over baby Leyla’s parentage and then sexually assaulting her. Charity did report the assault to the police but no charges were filed against Todd.

In the aftermath of the accident, Charity has decided to take the blame for her granddaughter and risk going to prison herself for the murder.
Tonight (Tuesday, 11 August) the police arrived at the scene to recover Dr Todd’s body. Charity was informed that both she and Sarah would be arrested so they could be questioned at the police station.
But Charity immediately told DS Ramsden that she was the one responsible for Dr Todd’s death.
At the station, Charity told police that she was scared when Dr Todd turned up at her home and she pushed her once, which caused her to lose her balance and hit her head.
Charity added that Dr Todd had her by the arm and she had just tried to get her off but DS Ramsden pointed out that Charity had motive given her past sexual assault.
Meanwhile, Sarah told police that she tried to help Dr Todd after her fall by doing CPR. But when Sarah described Dr Todd’s last moments she mentioned seeing the look on her face, which the detective called out as an inconsistency as she went on to say Dr Todd had her back to her.
When Charity was asked where Sarah was standing when she pushed Dr Todd away, she said she couldn’t remember.
Sarah was later released with Jacob coming to meet her, while Charity faced more interrogation and was told she was being kept in over night.
At home, Sarah told Chas and Cain that she walked in on Dr Todd attacking Charity and that Charity had pushed her away.
But later Sarah answered and call from Charity and mentioned that she had “messed up” while being interviewed by the police but Charity reminded her not to talk about this on the phone.
Speaking about Charity’s sacrifice, our Emmerdale insider previously revealed: “Charity will go to any lengths to save Sarah.
“Not only does she blame herself for bringing Dr Todd and her blackmail into their lives, but she carries the guilt of lying to Sarah about baby Leyla every day. She sees this as the ultimate act of love and repentance…”
