‘Whatever you’re thinking, think again!’ EastEnders’ Tameka Empson teases Kim’s ‘Beyoncé’ level wedding

Let’s be real, no EastEnders viewer ever thought Kim Fox’s wedding would be a quiet, low-key affair, did they?

Speaking exclusively to Metro, Tameka Empson confirmed our suspicions: Kim will be going all out to make her wedding to Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson) the spectacle of the century.

It’s been the one bright spot in the seemingly endless torrent of misfortune plaguing the Fox-Trueman family recently, after Denise Fox’s (Diane Parish) cancer diagnosis and the return of Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) who’d formulated a plot to kidnap Jordan Fox (Jahsaiah Williams).

Despite the dark times the family have found themselves facing, Kim is determined to make her wedding fit for the Kimfluencer: ‘With this wedding – it’s like no other wedding – and she’s pulled out all the stops, it will be very memorable’ she teased.

‘I think that there will be some people next year who will try to recreate it as well. If this goes as far as Beyoncé, I think she will be very impressed!

‘It’s not just about cowboy Carter, do you know what I mean?! It’s the Kimfluencer!’

…and the dress?

‘I can say the colour is white: It’s her first wedding on the square. She was married before, but we’re not gonna talk about that. It’s off screen.’

‘But this, this time, I think, she’s definitely going to be the Queen of the day.

‘It’s Queen of the day that she’s going for, and I don’t think people are going to expect what she’s chosen.

‘Whatever you’re thinking, think again!

‘Being Kim, of course, there has to have the oomph factor, and there’s definitely a oomph factor about.’

When we asked if the wedding will go ahead without a hitch, Tameka hit us with a dose of reality: ‘Has it ever been plain sailing?!

‘Even though it may not go according to plan, it’s still a great wedding. It’s gonna be warming of the heart. I’m hoping people might shed a tear of joy.’

And what about the future for Kim and Howie?

‘It’d be interesting to see how they have their first argument as a married couple. Just sharing that space. They live together, but when you put a ring on it, it’s very different.

‘It’s Albert Square, babe, it’s EastEnders, do you know what I mean?!’

We do, Tameka. We do.

When asked what it is that makes Kim and Howie such a beloved couple, and, what will ultimately see them succeed, Tameka said: ‘It’s the love.

‘They support each other and they will each other to win. Howie allows Kim to be Kim. He doesn’t stop her. He just allows her. If you could think back to when he bought the camera equipment and things like that, you know, he supports her.

‘I think, you know, just as long as you work with me and not against me, that could be OK. So I think that’s what people are seeing: the genuine love and support.’

With all of the aforementioned issues facing her family, we asked Tameka how she thinks Kim can stay so positive.

‘She’s just got to do it,’ Tameka mused. ‘I think it’s that thing of you’ve got to dig deep, you can’t let anybody down.

‘She’s proven herself, not only her sister but to herself. When you’ve got so many different family members with different needs, somebody’s gotta do it.’
