Disgusted Emmerdale fans call for the end of ‘irredeemable’ Joe Tate

Joe is very good at showing that he doesn’t have a good bone in his body

Emmerdale fans are growing tired of Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) as the character continues to be responsible for utterly horrendous plans – and doesn’t face any consequences for them.

Joe returned to the village in 2024. The reason for his comeback was soon revealed, as audience members learnt that he was very unwell.

The character needed a kidney transplant, and wanted to find out if brother Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) or uncle Caleb Miligan (William Ash) were a blood match.

Joe knew that politely asking Noah or Caleb for help wouldn’t work, so he resorted to dodgy methods to get his answers.

With help from surgeon Doctor Crowley, Joe drugged Noah and took him to a private hospital. Crowley tested Noah’s blood, but it wasn’t a match for Joe.

The duo then dumped Noah at the side of a road in the middle of the night. In his hazed state, Noah almost got hit by an approaching limo, which was being driven by Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).

Charity was forced to swerve to avoid hitting Noah. The limo got stuck in the middle of an icy lake, forcing Charity and a number of residents in the back to try and make their way across.

Before they could get to dry land, the group had to deal with the sudden death of Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough), who sustained a head injury during the crash.

The limo ordeal also led to Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) dying in hospital. If Joe’s drugging of Noah never happened, these three women might still be alive today.

Joe gets away with a lot, and Emmerdale fans have had enough
Joe’s baby son is currently being looked after by Kim and Graham

Joe’s kidney transplant was a success, because he found out that Caleb was a blood match. After the businessman was kidnapped, Doctor Crowley performed the operation on him and Joe, with Caleb later discovering that his nephew had stolen his organ without him knowing.

Joe has a habit of getting away with murder, sometimes almost literally.

From the limo crash, which he’s never truly faced punishment for, to taking Caleb’s kidney, Joe has repeatedly shown just how far he’s willing to go to get what he wants.

The discussion of Joe committing such heinous acts and whether he’ll ever be held accountable for the damage he causes is being discussed once again among the Emmerdale fanbase, following more shocking scenes in yesterday’s episode.

After Joe learnt that Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) wouldn’t be charged with causing Dawn Taylor’s (Olivia Bromley) death, he got revenge by bribing the Judge that led Vinny’s sentencing.

Joe gave her a significant amount of cash and, in return, she sentenced Vinny to 10 years in prison.

Expressing their thoughts on social media platform X, Tam said after this twist: ‘I am sick of Joe getting away with everything unpunished , I hope he loses favour with Kim when she discovers her daughter Thea #Emmerdale Joe should be in prison’.

Heather wrote: ‘It is sickening how Joe never suffers any consequences for his actions. #Emmerdale’.

Ryan expressed: ‘Joe is so selfish’.

Gail highlighted: ‘So Joe cause at least 3 deaths &nicks a kidney & faces no jail or consequences but Vinny gets 10 years ????’.

There is a very tiny chance (literally, so small) Joe may change for the better, if Kim Tate (Claire King) and Graham Foster’s (Andrew Scarborough) plan to keep Baby Tate closer than Joe thinks works in their favour.

It was revealed in yesterday’s episode that Graham is looking after Joe’s son in a remote cottage away from the village.

Kim has known about this all along, with her and Graham believing that Joe will eventually change his mind about getting rid of Baby Tate and work to get him back.

Being a father would give Joe the opportunity to do good but, that being said, if he discovers what Graham and Kim have done, he could just react badly and get revenge once more.

Which path will he choose?
