Two major Emmerdale characters to exit – and one seems doomed
Jacob believes he’s found a way to move forward

The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Emmerdale dated September 15. It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX and YouTube.
An Emmerdale resident wants him and his partner to leave the village to start a new life together – but heartbreak might be waiting.
Sarah Sugden’s (Katie Hill) whole world fell apart a few days ago, when Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) confirmed that little Leyla is actually her child.
Sarah was absolutely distraught. On top of trying to process that the baby she was raising with Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant) wasn’t biologically their daughter, Sarah is still dealing with the aftermath of accidentally killing Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker).
In the initial aftermath of confessing the truth about baby Leyla, Charity was horrified to realise that Sarah had changed her statement deliberately, which led to her being charged with Dr Todd’s murder.
Jacob was beside himself in today’s episode of the ITV soap, wondering how he would move forward after learning that Leyla isn’t his child.
Ross Barton (Michael Parr), Leyla’s actual dad, told Jacob that blood relation isn’t as important as he thinks.
The conversation gave Jacob a lot to think about. At Wishing Well, he explained his feelings to Sarah, and how he will worry about Charity wanting baby Leyla back so she can grow up with her brother Moses.
Jacob concluded that the only way they can be a proper family and not worry about Leyla’s real parents taking her back…is to move.
The thought of leaving the Dales with her Gran in prison for a crime she didn’t commit was eating Sarah up. Feeling as though she had no other option, Sarah headed to the police station and revealed to DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) and her colleague that the statement she made about Charity at the start of this month was wrong.

Naïve Sarah believed she was doing a good thing by telling the police that she had lied, but what she didn’t think about is the fact that lying to the police is a crime.
Ramsden announced that Sarah would be kept at the station for further questioning, leaving her panicked.
With Sarah trapped, is she going to confess to killing Todd?
Could Jacob and baby Leyla leave without her?
