Lily forced to flee Coronation Street as Jodie twists the knife in cruel plot
Poor Lily is just a pawn in her twisted aunt’s game

Is Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) unhinged enough to harm a child in Coronation Street? That’s not a trick question.
Weatherfield’s premier bunny-boiler has been single white femaleing her way into her half-sister Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) home. Her goal? To take her place in her sibling’s family in revenge for running away from home as a teenager. Not weird at all.
In her quest to go cuckoo in the nest, Jodie has tried her best to seduce Shona’s hubby David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), as well as help out with their premature Baby Harper wherever she can.
When she’s not been going all Fatal Attraction over David, Jodie’s been careful to cultivate a close relationship with her step-niece, Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft Gardner).
Because Harper’s health issues were Shona and David’s number one priority for so long, Lily felt neglected by her parents. This provided Jodie with the perfect opportunity to to play the ‘cool aunt’, becoming her trusted confidante.

Like everything with Jodie, there was an underhanded agenda. She wasn’t above using her step-niece to settle personal scores. When Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) fired Lily on her first day as a papergirl, Jodie nicked his favourite book from him as a twisted form of payback.
The book was stored in a bizarre box of trinkets, containing other thinks she’d stolen from her neighbours which might as well have been labelled PLOT DEVICE. Jodie’s magpie-like treasures included DS Lisa Connor-Swain’s (Vicky Myers) police badge, which she used to bully a random child into hand over her tablet – that she later regifted to Lily.
Oh, and let’s not forget the gun.
When Lily found the trinket box, she found the firearms Jodie pinched from Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard too). She managed to shut down Lily’s concerns and pretend it was a fake… but secretly held on to the gun, which was very much real.
Since then, Jodie continued using Lily as an unsuspecting pawn to meddle further in Shona and David’s household.

She steps up her game in upcoming episodes of Coronation Street, when the twisted sister uses Lily to drive Shona to a very public meltdown…. during her birthday party no less.

The birthday party is in full swing and Shona’s cake has been delivered. But when Lily’s phone is plugged into the docking station, suddenly the room is filled with the sound of Harper crying. Shona accuses Lily of recording Harper’s crying in a bid to convince her she was losing her mind.

Swearing blind that she’s no idea how Harper’s crying found its way onto her phone, an upset Lily flees from the party.
Is Lily telling the truth? Or was she behind the prank… with a little help from Jodie?
Jodie may be pulling Lily’s strings, but she does care about the girl – in her own messed up way.In a recent interview with Metro, actress Olivia Francis-Brown, who plays the villain, shed some light on her character’s complicated feeling for her step-niece.
‘Jodie genuinely does care about Lily.’ Olivia insisted. ‘She relates to Lily’s innocence and childlike qualities because Jodie has never really grown up herself. When Jodie feels genuine love from someone, she’ll go to extreme lengths to protect them.’
‘That said, there’s definitely a competitive element with Shona. Jodie loves the feeling of being needed and she gets a thrill thinking Lily prefers her as the ‘cooler, funner’ sister. She just wants to win.’
