Kit given distressing cancer update in new Coronation Street spoiler video

Kit faces devastating realityas chemo plan is revealed

While Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) has been desperate to keep the news of his cancer diagnosis a secret in Coronation Street, it seems he might not have the option for much longer.

While the rest of his family were horrified to discover that a faulty BRCA gene runs in their family and they’d all need testing, Kit was way ahead of the game, having already visited the doctor after a period of strange symptoms.

What he didn’t expect, though, was to be diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.

Initially, he turned only to Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), completely floored by what he’d learned and what it meant for his life going forward, though an appointment with a consultant saw Kit advised to open up to his family about what he’s going through, and his work colleagues, too.

Though he struggled to tell his mum Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove) initially, he did eventually relent.

Kit made a huge step forward and revealed his diagnosis to her, with Bernie vowing to support him on his journey, though, as of yet, Kit’s been entirely reluctant to let the police force know what he’s going through.

It took Kit a while to talk about his diagnosis

Next week sees Kit visit the hospital to discuss the plan for his chemotherapy with a nurse.

As she goes through the procedure, informing him of the drugs he’ll be given, his phone starts to ring ceaselessly, reminding him of all the pressures of work.

As he asks the nurse if he’ll be able to continue in his job while being treated, she tells him that most people find themselves pretty unwell as a result of the drugs, though he’s quick to counter that different people react in all sorts of ways – perhaps he’ll be able to remain at work?

While the nurse admits that this is a possibility, she warns him of the risk of infection, as his phone continues to blow up in his pocket.

Then, she suggests Kit tell work what’s going on, and the colour drains from his face.

Kit finally tells Lisa

At the station, Kit’s colleague Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) is incensed to learn that Kit has thrown his third sickie of the week, right before reports of a shooting at the Platt’s send her blues’ing and two’sing back to the cobbles.

When Kit arrives at work later, he finds Lisa furiously writing a report on the incident, before she lets loose on him for ignoring her earlier phone calls.

As she lays into him, though, she’s struck when he finally tells her the truth about his cancer.

Her anger melting away, Lisa tells Kit that both she, and the force at large, will do whatever they can to support him as he battles the disease.

As Kit moves forward and faces the toughest battle of his life, he’s surrounded by love and support.
