Just the beginning: Idris set to ‘take over’ Coronation Street
He could completely change Weatherfield

Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) has caused quite a stir in Coronation Street – and it seems he’s only just getting started.
New partner to Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), Idris is a determined businessman, and has already resorted to questionable tricks to get what he wants.
In order to become co-owner of Speed Daal, Idris highlighted to Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) that her life would be a lot less stressful if she gave up her shares and focused solely on her career as a solicitor.
In a bid to get Alya to sell, Idris also revealed his real connection to her, explaining that he’s actually her uncle, not her cousin. It became apparent that Alya’s gran Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) knew about the family secret, but never said anything.
Questioning her loyalty to Yasmeen, Alya eventually said goodbye to life at the restaurant.

His plot a success, Idris is going in for round two.
After Bistro owner Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and partner Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) provided Speed Daal with some chicken that was out of date, Idris got revenge this week by writing dodgy reviews about the place.
Leanne sensed that Idris was behind them, and he smiled as he confirmed that her theory was true. Idris believes that if he meddles and causes the Bistro to fall apart, they can buy the business at a cheaper price.
With Speed Daal added to his name, and hopefully the Bistro soon enough, upcoming episodes will also see Idris turn his attention to Underworld, which will spark problems for Carla and Lisa Connor-Swain (Alison King and Vicky Myers).
This man seems hellbent on taking over all of the businesses in Weatherfield, but will he succeed in his plan?
Or will someone clock onto his scheming and attempt to expose him?
‘There are a few secrets coming, and a bit of violence, maybe,’ star Junade Khan teased when he discussed his character earlier this year.

‘Idris, he’s a businessman, does quite well. I think Nick finds it a bit tricky. Nick slightly lives in his world of owning the bistro and having a certain standing. That’s good because it crumbles at times, which I think is fantastic.
‘It’s very similar to Peter. Peter was a bit flawed, but you could also see in Peter there was a power that Nick couldn’t match. I think there’s the best of that vibe in Idris. I’m already seeing Idris will definitely probably be a match for Nick in certain ways.’
‘Nick didn’t like that with Peter, and doesn’t welcome it. And also, he can see Leanne is happy.’
