The smoking gun Sadie needs to destroy Caleb and Ruby as Emmerdale confirms what happens next

Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) uncovered the shocking truth about Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) and Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) betrayal in Emmerdale, which could prove to be exactly what she needs in order to carry out her job.

The legendary conwoman, whose tales of betrayal and scheming date back decades, has been tasked by Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) to destroy Caleb (William Ash) and Ruby.

Thus far, Sadie has managed to win the trust of Ruby, who invited her, Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) over to Mill Cottage for a wine tasting session.

As the booze flowed, the foursome played a game of Never Have I Ever, which led to the truth about Ruby’s past dalliance with Cain coming to light.

Intrigued, Sadie attempted to pick at that wound, much to the chagrin of Ruby, which led to Manpreet letting spill about Caleb’s past betrayal with other women.

Cain, meanwhile, was appalled to learn that Caleb has Sadie living under his roof.

The legendary show mechanic, as longtime viewers will recall, had a whirlwind romance with Sadie two decades ago and learned the hard way what she’s truly capable of and thus urged his sibling to proceed with caution.

What happens next in Emmerdale? Spoilers for Friday, October 16 episode

With Cain’s warning whirling around in his head, with Caleb take action to get Sadie out of his home? That remains to be seen. Speaking of Sadie, the show schemer uses a sob story to reel Ruby back in.

The question is: will knowing about Ruby and Caleb’s past betrayals prove to be what she uses to tear the couple apart?

Caleb in particular struggled to come to terms with Ruby’s betrayal given that it was with his trusted brother Cain, but they’re in a much better place now.

But given how clever she is when it comes to manipulation, will Sadie be able to use what she’s uncovered to manipulate Caleb into straying from his wife?

Elsewhere, the high stakes poker game gets underway at The Hide.

Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) is warned to proceed with caution but he reckons that Claudette Anderson (Flo Wilson) isn’t as good as she’s letting on – and that he will come out victorious.

Burt will that prove to be the case? And will Joe’s presence complicate matters further?

Elsewhere, Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J Robb) behaviour over Samson continues to alienate her from her loved ones while Charity (Emma Atkins) and Sarah (Katie Hill) remain at odds.
