Emmerdale confirms weird Liam mystery as spoilers reveal what happens next

Is Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) as innocent as we think? That’s the question you’ll ask yourself watching today’s episode of Emmerdale, as a new storyline appears to be starting for the local GP.

Yesterday, Liam was alarmed when Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) revealed that he had found Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) on the table in the vets with a knife in her back.

Mary was alive and well, and Liam soon learnt that she was playing a part in the murder mystery quest that Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) had organised for him.

As he got to work trying to solve the case, Liam ended up at Tenants. He then opened the door to a man called Dave, who tied Liam up with some cable ties.

Liam was a bit alarmed, but believed that Dave was just part of Chas’ game. When the new face stated that he was actually in town because Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) ratted him out to the police, Liam began to fear that he was in real danger.

Liam soon discovers that Dave really was hired by Chas as part of her murder mystery event. He is led to the pub, and then discovers Chas wants their wedding date to be January 29.

Liam then approaches Dave – real name David – to thank him for taking part and putting on such a convincing performance.

As the two men get chatting, it’s revealed that David is from Kingston, and he believes that Liam is from there as well.

David says that Liam seems familiar, but doesn’t remember ever bumping into anyone with the Cavanagh surname.

Liam is very reluctant to entertain the conversation, and then outright tells David that the man he’s thinking of isn’t him.

When Liam walks away, he has a look on his face that suggests David’s comments about him were accurate.

But what exactly is he hiding?

Elsewhere today, Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) continues to fuel the theory that Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) has a drink problem, while Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) learns who kidnapped Baby Tate.

On Thursday, October 29’s episode…

Emmerdale isn’t on tomorrow due to the Carabao Cup airing instead. The next trip to the village will be on Thursday, October 29.

During that instalment, Graham is absolutely reeling after learning that Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) was the person who took Baby Tate.

Meanwhile, after stabbing her daughter in self-defence, Kim Tate (Claire King) rushes Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) to hospital.

When she arrives, Kim is alarmed when the doctor insists that they call the police.

Fearing the consequences of her actions, is Kim’s future at risk?
