Jodie will step up her shocking campaign but boss offers promise to Coronation Street fans
Jodie is hellbent on tearing Shona and David apart.

Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) plunged to shocking new depths to wreck her sister Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) marriage, and according to Coronation Street Producer Kate Brooks, she’s not done yet.
Last week, the downfall of Jodie Ramsey seemed all but certain… until her elaborate plans for revenge against Shona went up in smoke thanks to one rash decision.
For months, Jodie had been quietly getting her feet under the table at No.6 while taking every opportunity to get closer to her sister’s husband David Platt (Jack P Shepherd). This was to pay Shona back for running away from home when they were kids, and ‘abandoning’ Jodie to their toxic dad.
Then she discovered the letter. The letter that Jodie has sent to her big sister as a little girl, in a desperate attempt to reach out. While Shona claims she never received the letter, the fact that she’d kept it all these years proved that she was lying, and just didn’t want to see her family.
This sent Jodie off the deep-end.
So she did what any rational person would do – put on her sister’s lingerie, light a few romantic candles, and wait in David’s bed until he stumbled home drunk from Swarla’s wedding and pretend to be his wife.

Jodie may be down, but is she out? Of course not!
But fans of #Shavid can relax. In a recent chat with Metro, Coronation Street producer Kate Brooks revealed that Jodie will have a job on her hands splitting up the classic Cobbles couple.
‘She is desperately trying to get what she feels is rightfully hers. She has a real soft spot for David, and she sees this life that shown was built, and she thinks, why couldn’t that be? That could be me, that should be my life. She could have had a normal kind of life with a family and a dog named after the father in the family’ She’s still definitely kind of on that trajectory, but David and Shona are a really strong, united couple. They adore each other. They love each other. They’ve been through a lot.’

So what’s next for Jodie’s evil scheme? Now David’s spurned her advances and branded her a ‘Glenn Close’ (of Fatal Attraction fame), she’s going to need a new way to ruin Shona’s family.
Kate Brooks teases that there’s another way Jodie can cause tension in their relationship – through Harper, their premature daughter.
‘We’ve obviously got Harper still in hospital. Ultimately, Harper will comehome and the stresses of family life will start to really take its toll. Whether Jodie is able to exploit those weaknesses within that relationship, whether she’s able to kind of tempt David over to the dark side, or because she wants to punish Shona for leaving her, she’s certainly going to try and come between them.’
But Kate was quick to reassure fans that David and Shona won’t be splitting up any time soon. ‘As I say,’ she insisted. ‘David and Shona are pretty solid couple. It’s whether they can unite and see Jodie for who she is and what she is in time.’

What about Jodie? Now she’s burned her bridges with the Platts, which poor sucker will she con into taking her in this time?
If only there was someone suitable. Someone perhaps, with a white knight complex who falls damsels in distress with a bad habit of not being in quite as much distress as he thought…
… and just like that, along comes Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard)..
The tortured Headmaster of Weatherfield High is currently still reeling from the discovery that his girlfriend Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) was a child predator who’d been grooming one of his pupils, and was only with him as a cover for her illicit acitivites.
So when he finds Jodie in his flat next week having been kicked out of the Platts, the bunny boiling baddie tries to manipulate Daniel into letting her stay. Will Daniel fall for it?

It certainly seems like Daniel is Jodie’s latest target. Kate Brookes explains how he will fit in to the villain’s story.
‘Jodie’s story will dovetail off into Daniel’s story . An unlikely little friendship will be formed, which I don’t think many people see coming, but it’s a really different insight into what makes them both tick.’
‘For the first time, Daniel’s able to be truthful about how he feels. And similarly, Jodie’s able to be quite truthful with Daniel, because he’s in a quite a dark place. There’s some interesting dynamics between them. ‘
Anyone else get the feeling there’s one seriously toxic romance on the cards? #Dodie!
