All Emmerdale spoilers for next week as another crime rocks the village
Broken hearts and broken relationships

Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) is trying, above anything, to build a relationship with his son, but the deck remains firmly stacked against him next week in Emmerdale.
While Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) is softening toward the idea of forming a real relationship with his particularly peculiar father, his brother, Ross Barton (Michael Parr), and workmate-come-surrogate mum, Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler), are firmly against the idea. Will they take action, or give Kev enough rope to hang himself?
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) continues to face the harsh reality of his illness, while also dealing with an increasingly unruly son, Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn). Can Cain wrangle control of his situation, or is he on the verge of total implosion?
Caleb Miligan (William Ash) and Kerry Wyatt’s (Laura Norton) dodgy new scheme hits a snag next week when they come across something potentially horrifying. Will a seed planted by Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) in Caleb’s mind grow into a whole new scam?
Elsewhere, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) faces the very real possibility that his and Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) relationship is dead, and Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) eyes a new potential suitor?

As Cain leaves, Joe tells Graham that he needs to pick a side.
As Kev voices his internal struggle, worried that Lewis will never want anything to do with him, Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) bolsters his resolve, telling him that he’d make a wonderful dad.

Later, Kyle sets a shed on fire, with Cain having to spring into action to save Monty, trapped inside. Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) tells Cain to prepare for the worst, leading him to lash out at Kyle again. Later Paddy braces himself as he prepares to tell the family that Monty has cancer.
