Sarah loses everything in major Emmerdale twist as Charity prison revenge seriously backfires
Sarah’s plan backfired dramatically

Emmerdale spoilers follow for Monday’s (September 14) episode that is now available to view on ITVX and YouTube. The episode in question will air on ITV1 on at 8pm.
Sarah Sugden’s (Katie Hill) will rue the day she sought revenge on unsuspecting Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) by sending her to prison – a plan which created a chain reaction that would ultimately backfire on her.
Charity, as viewers know, came clean last week about baby Leyla’s parentage to stop Sarah from going to the police and confessing to killing Dr Todd (Caroline Harker).
What she didn’t expect, however, was that granddaughter Sarah would respond by changing her statement regarding the crime to further incriminate her gran, who was subsequently charged with murder.
Charity hoped that Cain (Jeff Hordley) would talk some sense into Sarah, who is particularly close to her granddad but his efforts proved fruitless, with stubborn Sarah refusing to budge.
At his wits end, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) threatened to tell Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren plant) the truth about Leyla’s paternity – and that his wife is Todd’s real killer – if she didn’t change her statement, which left Sarah with a dilemma on her hands.
Worried Mack would follow through on his threats, she instead decided to tell Jacob the truth herself.
Jacob was devastated to learn that Leyla isn’t his biological child but it was the fact that Sarah had kept not only this from him but also that she’d killed Todd that left him truly heartbroken, claiming he didn’t know his wife at all.
Sarah desperately pleaded with him to keep talking to her, hoping they could fix this and hold on to their little family.

Jacob, however, asked her to leave – and made it clear that he would be holding on to Leyla, who was asleep at the time of their row.
Devastated, Sarah realised that she had lost everything.
Charity, meanwhile, was subjected to a full body search in prison after drugs were found in her cell. The situation triggered a PTSD-induced panic attack which left her in segregation.

After getting wind of this, Mack was heartbroken for Charity and wasted little time in notifying Sarah, who was taken aback to learn of her gran’s ordeal.
Will Sarah finally do the right thing and change her statement so that Charity can be set free?
