EastEnders icons release unseen footage from special “bucket list” episode

EastEnders star Laura Doddington has shared unseen footage from last night’s special episode, which saw her character Nicola Mitchell team up with a few fellow soap icons. Despite their on-screen feud, Nicola and Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) put aside their differences to go and rescue Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) with Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) amid Honey’s kidnap ordeal.
Thankfully, the latter managed to escape Bea’s (Ronni Ancona) grasp and meet them on the road amid their search, and Bea was eventually arrested after trying to take Billy (Perry Fenwick) hostage.
Laura has now shared a reel of behind-the-scenes Instagram pictures from her road trip with Balvinder and Kellie, admitting she was “excited” to film on a low loader.
“Honestly. Big filming bucket list ticked – and to spend the day with these gorgeous girls on location was just a dream,” she wrote on the caption.
“This job is simply the best and I absolutely loved working with the icons that are @kelliebrightofficial , @balvindasopal and @emmabarton who has been completely brilliant throughout this whole storyline!
“I am so lucky to have this amazing job and work with such an awesome team! #eastenders #jobofdreams #thebest.”
Writing in the comments, Balvinder beamed: “What an absolute ride!!!”, while Ronni added: “Love you Dodders & miss you all !”
Meanwhile, Jacqueline Jossa, who plays Lauren Branning, summed it up neatly: “Too many icons.”
Fans were certainly loving the team-up in last night’s episode, one suggesting Nicola and Suki could be “ICONIC together” if they put aside their feud, while another called it “actually brilliant”. Others even called for a spin-off about the trio on a road trip.
