Emmerdale films surprise exit for Noah Dingle star after 17 years
How will this affect Charity?

Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale star Jack Downham is leaving the soap after 17 years as Noah Dingle, reports have claimed.
The actor, who has played Charity’s son since he was six years old, is the latest rumoured departure amid a major cast shake-up at the ITV show.

According to a report in The Sun, Jack has already filmed his final scenes and will leave on screen in the coming weeks.
An Emmerdale spokesperson said: “We don’t comment on cast contracts.”
The show has a long-standing policy of not announcing most cast departures to avoid spoiling storyline outcomes.
Speculation around Noah’s future has been circulating in recent days after spoilers revealed that he’ll start questioning his future.
In Friday’s episode (17 July), Noah confides in his stepdad Mackenzie Boyd about how he’s considering applying for jobs abroad.

The timing could be difficult for Charity, who’s had her life turned upside-down after being sexually assaulted by evil Dr Todd. Will Noah leave before finding out what his mum has been through?
Noah was born on screen in 2004 and Jack took over the role in 2009. Speaking to Inside Soap in 2021, Jack spoke about his experiences growing up on our screens.
“I’ve loved it,” he explained at the time. “It’s quite strange to be around adults all the time, but I think it’s helped me mature in a lot of ways.
“On the other hand, I’ve missed out on my fair share of events and things with friends my own age, but it’s all part and parcel of having such a great opportunity.”

He added: “The constant drama is a great part of it. There’s always something going on. Plus, everyone who plays a part in the Dingle family is so nice to work with.
“I’ve definitely learnt so much from Emma [Atkins, who plays Charity], and she’s always looked after me.”
Several more Emmerdale characters have been tipped to depart this year – with Dawn Fletcher, Vinny Dingle and Jimmy King said to be heading for the exit door.
There’s still plenty for fans to look forward to, though, including Patsy Kensit reprising her role as Sadie King.
