All Coronation Street spoilers for next week shows Cassie going to deadly lengths to eliminate Ross

Hearts – and families – are bound to break

As Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) tries desperately to claw her way back into her family, Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) is desperate to rid hers of Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield) in next week’s Coronation Street.

The re-emergence of Ross has sent Cassie into an utter tailspin, and next week, she ramps up her efforts to get him gone, with potentially fatal results. Will Cassie destroy her own life in her mission to save her family?

David and Shona Platt’s (Jack P Shepherd and Julia Goulding) welcome home is immediately marred by the appearance of Jodie, who immediately sets about trying to win back her spot among the Platt clan. Can she manipulate her way back into the bosom of the family?

Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) finds herself torn between the two men in her life, when Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) agrees to represent Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) in her case against Idris Nazir (Junade Khan). With neither willing to back down from their respective position, will Alya become collateral damage?

Elsewhere, Asha Alahan’s (Tanisha Gorey) attempts to reignite her love life see her face a number of obstacles, Sam Blakeman’s (Jude Riordan) wounded by David and Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) makes a mistake that sees her vow to make a change in her life.

Now we’re back to our regularly scheduled programming post-World Cup, there’s plenty of tea to be spilled. Shall we begin?

Monday, July 27

Jodie arrives as a surprise guest

The welcome home party for David, Shona and Harper is scuppered somewhat when Jodie arrives and asks to move back in as she waits for the court case she’ll be facing after admitting to assaulting Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien). While Sam is upset when David refuses to let him hold Harper, Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) quizzes Jodie over the trinket box and Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) visits Sarah in prison, informing her of Jodie’s actions.

Cassie is overjoyed to hear from an ex of Ross’, Alison, but he overhears the call. She summons Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) and Ross to the Rover’s and introduces them to Alison, claiming that Ross stole money from her before threatening her.

Meanwhile, Sam relays the issue with Harper to Idris. As Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) arrive, Sam reassures them that Idris has helped tenfold.

Tuesday, July 28

Lisa is unsettled by news of Sarah

Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) finds herself troubled when Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King) reveals she’ll be visiting Sarah later in prison, reasoning that she’s not coping well and Harry (Joshua Leavy) is struggling without his mum present.

When Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and Cassie find Tyrone, Ross and Tracy enjoying celebratory drinks due to Ross finding local employment and intending to stay in the area, Cassie’s sickened. Steve steps in, urging her to bide her time, keep calm and wait for Ross to reveal his true colours.

Elsewhere, David and Shona confront Jodie about the trinket box, and after Idris offers to buy Alya’s half of Speed Dahl before dropping a bombshell on her, he turns nasty with Adam for representing Abi in her case against him.

Wednesday, July 29

Nina and Amy are confused by Sienna’s behaviour

In the shop flat, Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) tries to reassure a nervous Asha that she looks gorgeous prior to her first date with Sienna Milburn (Charlotte Tyree). When they return later, full of smiles, Asha, Nina and Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) are left confused when a phone call changes Sienna’s mood instantly and she dashes off.

When Fiz Dobbs (Jennie McAlpine) tries to organise a birthday tea for Ross, Cassie struggles to contain her feelings, and as the cake arrives and the guests begin to sing, she reveals Ross paid her for sex at age 15.

Also, in an effort to win Lily round, Jodie steps in when she sees her struggling to protect Harry from bullies in the precinct, which Lily relays to David and when Alya reaffirms that she can’t force Adam to drop Abi as a client, Idris offers Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) some cash to go after Adam.

Thursday, July 30

Cassie tries to get rid of Ross

Cassie’s incandescent when she realises Ross stayed at No.1 and things are well with him and Tracy, though she listens intently when he discusses a mandatory drug test at his new job. When she sees him sharing smoothies with Amy later, she mixes some of Tyrone’s pills into his drink before scarpering, unaware she has dropped the pill packet.

Nina’s suspicions are aroused when Sienna reasons that her hasty exit was as a result of taking her elderly nan to bingo, and she’s left red-faced when she later catches them in bed together. Later, though, unable to find her wage packet, she confronts Asha, believing Sienna stole it.

Concurrently, Abi is torn when Adam advises her to reject Idris’ offer, while Alya points out that a court case could leave her with nothing, Jodie creates a profile on a mums forum, pretending to be Shona and Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) is nervous as her discharge from hospital approaches.

Friday, July 31

Debbie makes a grave error

Debbie, Fiz, Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove), Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), and Mary (Patti Clare) gather at Sally and Tim Metcalfe’s (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) for a garden party, though when Tim approaches Debbie, she fails to recognise him and accuses him of being a pervert, ogling them in their swimsuits. As Mary steps in and gently reminds Debbie who Tim is, she’s mortified and vows to stop drinking altogether.

Steve breaks up with Cassie after finding an empty strip of strong painkillers in Cassie’s cardigan pocket and when Tyrone discovers what’s happened, he throws her out onto the street.

Meanwhile, arriving home to find a bed set up in the living room, Betsy remains dejected and asks Lisa to contact the fashion college to tell her she’s no longer able to attend, while Nina accuses Sienna of being a thief, who fires back that she’s a jealous ex and storms away.
