Happy ending teased for Jimmy and Nicola in Emmerdale – and we believe it, right?
Nicola and Jimmy King have been married for 16 years
You’re probably more likely to watch a pig fly down Main Street than experience a long-lasting marriage in Emmerdale, but somehow Jimmy and Nicola King (Nick Miles and Nicola Wheeler) have proved an exception to the rule.
Jimmy and Nicola have been married since 2010, and despite plenty of challenges, they’re still (mostly) going strong.
In fact, things are looking so good from the outside that next week Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) suggests to Nicola that she and Jimmy should renew their vows.
The idea gets Nicola thinking about their first special day, and she starts to reminisce about the wedding.
In true Jimmy and Nicola style, the wedding very nearly didn’t go ahead, as Nicola found herself in court facing a prison sentence after biting Cathy Hope.
Thankfully, Viv Hope’s victim impact statement asked the judge for leniency, and as soon as Nicola was handed a sentence of probation, they rushed back to the village to tie the knot.
When she broaches the idea of a vow renewal with Jimmy in upcoming scenes, she is delighted when he agrees.
And so, Jimmy and Nicola are set to live happily ever after, right? Right?
Alas, probably not, as Jimmy is set to make a life-changing business decision without consulting his beloved wife.
There’s also the small obstacle that Jimmy is set to be killed off.
‘The scenes promise to be spectacular but the outcome will leave many fans shocked,’ a source told us earlier this year, at the time of the shock announcement.
‘It may prove controversial but the jaw-dropping storyline will set in motion some massive consequences for many months to follow.’
How long does Jimmy have left? Will he and Nicola get the chance to renew their vows before his tragic end?
