What happens next in EastEnders? Big spoilers for Wednesday’s episode confirmed

More dramatic scenes to come in EastEnders tomorrow

If you’re eager to know what the future holds for Denise Fox (Diane Parish) after that EastEnders cliffhanger then fear not, as we’ve got spoilers detailing what’s ahead tomorrow.

The latest visit to Albert Square saw Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) on a mission to track down Darnell Larson (Christopher Colquhoun).

With Denise, who was diagnosed with blood cancer earlier in the year, having been put into a medically induced coma to fight an infection, Jack and Kim were determined to find her a possible stem cell donor for the next phase of her treatment.

Darnell, a half-brother, was found via an ancestry website and Jack contemplated getting the man in question’s details at the station. Kim, however, successfully got in touch with Darnell after making a few calls.

Darnell was taken aback to learn of Denise’s condition and, after visiting her in the hospital, he was overwhelmed, making a swift exit.

Elsewhere, Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey) asked Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) out for a drink, much to her shock, and Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) filmed content for Bert and Ernie’s school project – though was later seen crying in the ladies loos.

For all the details on what’s coming up on Wednesday, August 26, here’s everything you need to know.

Devastating Denise and Darnell aftermath

Jack is relieved when he’s notified that Denise is showing signs of improvement, which means she can be brought out of her coma.

The happiness, however, is short-lived as, with the treatment not working as they’d hoped, doctors make it clear that the search for a stem cell donor is more urgent than ever before.

Jack confronts Darnell

Jack informs Denise about Darnell and subsequently tries to locate the newcomer. He succeeds in doing so, finding Darnell with his daughter Grace. Emotions run high, leaving the family worried that they’ve lost their best chance to help Denise.

Devastated, Jack returns to the hospital, where he delivers the bad news – and faces Kim’s wrath.

Will Darnell reconsider? Will Denise find a stem cell donor?

Elsewhere in the Square…

Worried about Kat after seeing her sobbing in the ladies loos at the Vic, Alfie comes up with a plan to lift her spirits, planning a Benidorm-themed party inspired by a happy memory.

Alfie takes great strides to put a smile on Kat’s face

His loved ones quiz him on why he hasn’t directly addressed the footage with Kat but his surprise plan ultimately distracts them from their line of questioning. And Kat too is left moved by his efforts.

Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), meanwhile, asks Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) to organise Max’s (Jake Wood) stag do, which leaves the Branning patriarch on edge.

And with Amy and Craig having agreed to meet on the day in question for a drink, just how will the rendezvous pan out?
