Grim EastEnders latest as creepy cop Craig kisses vulnerable teen Amy

Craig kissed Amy

EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (August 26) episode, which can now be streamed on BBC iPlayer. The episode in question will air at 7:30pm.

Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey) has made a move on Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd), kissing the teen after inviting her out for a drink.

The detective, as viewers know, has frequented Walford quite a bit over the past month following the attack on Joel Marshall (Max Murray), which he was leading the investigation into.

He crossed paths with Amy, daughter of colleague Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), when interviewing all the potential teen suspects, who were in the park prior to the incident.

With the walls beginning to close in, Amy opened up to Craig, who was left reeling when she admitted that she was the one who assaulted Joel.

Craig contemplated whether or not he should relay this information to his superiors but before he had the chance to do so, he was suspended from his position and taken off the Joel case.

A complaint had been made against him and it came to light that it wasn’t the first, with DS Reynolds confirming that Craig was being investigated for gross misconduct over ‘engaging in inappropriate relationships with a female officer’.

Disgruntled Craig refrained from telling Amy about his suspension and instead told her that he’d decided to keep her secret to protect her.

Craig said he would keep quiet about Amy’s role in Joel’s attack

Amy felt grateful towards Craig, who told her to come to him should she need anything. Earlier this week, the two crossed paths once more at Gaming Groundsafter Amy had been rejected by Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega).

Craig branded her friends – Denzel included – as ‘kids’ and said she was an ‘old soul’, inviting her out for a drink with him.

Amy was taken aback at first but ultimately agreed, making it clear that she can get served alcohol.

On Wednesday, the pair rendezvoused as planned at Container Junction. Amy asked for a gin and soda single but when Craig went to the bar he ordered a double.

Will Jack find out?

Amy opened up about all that she’s going through as Craig listened, suggesting one more drink for the road. As they left Container Junction, Craig told Amy that he cares about her – and she said she cared for him too.

Craig leaned in for a kiss.

The question is: just what is Craig up to? Is Amy in danger? And just how will Jack – who has a lot to cope with following wife Denise Fox’s (Diane Parish) diagnosis – react when he finds out about it?
