Idris’ despicable true colours revealed as Carla’s dreams come crashing down
Conniving Idris plays dirty in his mission to take Carla’s business

There seems to be nobody on Coronation Street that Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) can’t cheat, backstab or bully – not even Queen of the Cobbles Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King).
The sinister businessman has a ruthless streak that would send the rejected candidates from the Apprentice running for the hills.
Not only is he a slumlord who lets his tenants live in dangerous conditions, but he’s quite happy to let others do his dirty work. For example, turning Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) into his minion and making the poor kid an accessory to kidnap and threatening the owner of his dodgy property.
Or arranging a poker game between Ollie Driscoll (Raphael Akuwudike) and a dangerous gangster just to make a few quid.
It’s not just about money. It’s about empire. Idris is determined to get his hands on pretty much every business on Coronation Street.
His most recent victim is his own cousin, Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) who he manipulated into handing him majority share control of Speed Daal by dropping a huge bombshell – he is actually her uncle!
Then he destroyed the reputation of the Bistro with a bunch of fake reviews, just so he could buy the business from Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) at the lowest possible price.
And all with Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) at his side, his partner on the Street and under the sheet. The Weatherfield bad boy has certainly made our Lea a lot more Lady MacBeth, matching Idris in ruthlessness and determination.

You’d think even Idris would draw the line at taking on the legendary Carla Connor-Swain, but no. He’s got his eyes on the factory – and he did not make the best impression with the Queen of The Underworld thanks to an appalling parking job behind her beloved motor.

It came as no surprise that Carla snubbed his offer to help with the business, despite the fact Underworld’s not exactly top of its game right now.
But Idris doesn’t give up, and we’re about to see in upcoming Coronation Street episodes that if Carla won’t sell her business – he’ll destroy it.
Idris hears Carla talking to Lisa (Vicky Myers) about an important meeting at the hotel. Carla and Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) are pleased with how the meeting is going.

But as the client heads to the loo, Idris stops him. Is he about to throw a spanner in the works?

An intrigued Idris listens in as Carla confides in Lisa at the cafe that she will have to cancel the Christmas bonus and she needs to get the current order out on time if she is to save the factory.
Carla breaks the news to the devastated staff that she is struggling to keep the factory afloat.

Idris meets up with Brody at the rear of the factory and handing him a lighter, tells him he’s got a job for him. What has he got planned?
Brody lets himself into No.4 and steals Sally’s set of factory keys. Checking the coast is clear, Brody lets himself into the deserted factory unaware he is being watched by Leanne.
Carla and Lisa in the Rovers and tells them that the factory alarm is going off. What has Brody done?
Without giving too much away, it’s nothing good. The next day, Carla tells the shocked workers that she has no option to shut the factory and can only pay them one month’s wages.
Has Idris dethroned Carla as the ruler of Underworld?
